Hi everyone,

First I would like to thank you all for reading. I'm a single mother to two little girls, ages 3 and 4, who will be starting RN program this fall (VERY EXCITED), and I need some advice and feedback from anyone who can direct me to the right place for finding resources like housing and assistance. I have been working full time at our local hospital, and my parents have been helping ALOT with watching my kids. Unfortunately they are needing to head back to our country of origin and have offered to take my kids for the next two years as I finish up school. I do not want this to be my only option, but starting this fall..realistically I will not be able to work full time, meaning I will not be as financially stable as I am now. I want to do well in my program, but I am hell bent on keeping my family together. My children's father does not ask for his kids, and although his family are helpful, I've never been able to count on them 100%. I am currently in a relationship, but I cannot count on that either just because I don't want to burden him with this. Anyway, I don't even know where to begin seeking assistance, can anyone from California, or anywhere, parent going through a similar situation (or have) be able to point me to the right direction? Is there a particular social worker I can seek help from, or apply online for subsidized housing, ANY information would be helpful. Thank you.
