Hi! AHHH the medication dilemmas! I was and still am somewhat confused about what meds to trust , or not to trust. My son Ben is 6 yrs. old ,autistic and non-verbal. I have had him on so many different meds in the past I can't even remember all of them. One dr. had him on two different ones at the same time for almost a year, was not helping, I switched drs., guess what... should NOT have been on these meds at the same time , not compatible! I was, needless to say FURIOUS!Ben is now on Zyprexa and trileptol. He was taking it in the a.m and at bedtime but now is down to just nights. As long as I keep him active and focused during the day it seems to be working o.k. Ben is still hyper, screams frequently, and also has a temper but it is lots better than it was before. I have noticed that the summer months are much better because he is outdoors lots, he swims everyday in the pool and has a very large airblown castle to jump in, now that the cold weather is here his behavior has changed(for the worse) and its time to rack the brain for ways to wear him down while being indoors, just one more challenge. If you would like to e-mail me personally my address is [email protected]

Hi I will share. I have a daughter (16) on Concerta, and I lost my son Last year I know how helpful drugs are when children truly need them. Does the Concerta seem to make your son looked drugged? I have not seen these signs with my daugher? If you are interested in talking email me at [email protected] ↑ |
