My daughter was in the hospital for over a week when she was 6 weeks old due to RSV. The only way to know for sure it's RSV is to have the swab test done. Many times the Doctors misdiagnose it as that was the case of my daughter at first.
When my 2nd child was born (premature 31 weeks) we had to keep him in isolation until spring. He was born in October. No children under the age of 13, anyone who came to the house had to wash hands first and no one over if they had had a cold in the last 7 days. Just know that a child can NOT catch an ear infection or broncitis those are secondary infections.
If in doubt, you can lay the child on his/her back and watch them breath, if they are pulling in deep for air around the diaphram, you may want a Doctor to take a look. Good Luck. ↑ |
