a bunch of our friends kids have all come down with rsv and brincitis and double ear infections...at least 5 kids, and our kids sped alot of time with these kids.just yesterday the one little girl was rushed to the hosp because she stopped breathing for 3 minutes and was having convultions, thank goodness the pastor got her breating again. my question is how do you know when it goes from just a cold to rsv? my kids have never had this before, silas has a nonstop runny nose and eden has a bad cough. and i am now worried

My daughter was in the hospital for over a week when she was 6 weeks old due to RSV. The only way to know for sure it's RSV is to have the swab test done. Many times the Doctors misdiagnose it as that was the case of my daughter at first.
When my 2nd child was born (premature 31 weeks) we had to keep him in isolation until spring. He was born in October. No children under the age of 13, anyone who came to the house had to wash hands first and no one over if they had had a cold in the last 7 days. Just know that a child can NOT catch an ear infection or broncitis those are secondary infections.
If in doubt, you can lay the child on his/her back and watch them breath, if they are pulling in deep for air around the diaphram, you may want a Doctor to take a look. Good Luck.
