My daughter has been tightening up and almost shaking when she gets excited. I am a new father and this is starting to concern me. I thought as she got older she would lose this trait. She is currently 20 months old and has a twin brother who does not do this at all. Her language skills also seem to be a little behind his. Am I okay to worry or is this normal behavior for a child of her age? Any answers or responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Both of my kids did this. My second not near as bad as my first. I actually took my son to the doc and had the doctor hold something desirable (favorite toy he didn't know I'd brought) and he did it. The doc said it was Benign Tremors. And he did out grow them. My daughter did this a little but quickly outgrew it. My son probably did it til age two. If it's just at certain times, I wouldn't worry too much but do bring it up at her next check up.

hi
I would take your daughter to see your health visitor or doctor if you are worried just to ease your mind, but dont compare them both so much my son whos 5 now didnt start speaking properly till he was nearly 2and half all children are different and just because her twin is doing something doesnt mean that she will, when babys are excited they can do lots of things and the shaking can just be one of her traits when she shakes does she go unconciess or anything else like that.
it sounds like shes a real cheecky cherub that she likes scaring her dad, i remember what it was like being first time parent and its terrefying but enjoy it and try not to worry just take her to doctors and that will ease your mind.
