I loved the Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series. It is set in Scotland during the highland rebellions and is romance and action and a bit of history. I just fell in love with the main character Jamie Fraser.

I like scary books like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Odd Thomas was really good, by Dean Koontz. If you want to know about any of theirs you can ask me cause I have a huge collection of them.

ohhhh, if you haven't read it already, read

"The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant.

Excellant, excellant book!

Another favorite of mine is a memoirs book

"All Over But the Shoutin' " by Rick Bragg.

It essentially is a story about his mother, who is a southern woman of extraordinary character, who lived almost all of her life in desperate poverty, and thought nothing of it. Reading the book was like hearing the gentle voice of a southern son tell you about growing up with his beloved mother. I couldn't put it down.

This may sound crazy and maybe not exactly what you are looking for but a book called For Better or For Best Understand Your Man by Gary Smalley. I have never been the one to read marriage books but I so related with this book. It just helps you understand where your husband is coming from and how you can make your relationship better. Ex. was 8 ways he hurts your feelings without knowing it. I read that chapter and really laughed out loud along with several other chapters. Men are just a different species and this book really made me see things a bit different.

Wow, so many to choose from now! hahaha. I guess word got around that I wanted a good book(s) and just had a B-day so received 5 new books! ;) Not sure if I will enjoy a couple of them (not usually my kind of reading) but will give them a shot. I did start one that I am loving! It's a quick and easy read called "a walk to remember" which was made into a movie, by Nicholas Sparks. I read the notebook that he wrote and loved it. So I am just about done with that one and will start on the next. I am excited about reading a few that was posted on here, so I will let you know as I go down the list. Thanks for asking Charla. ;)

MARLEY AND ME!!!!!! My husband, Jason (just wanted to mention that because I feel so silly when I respond to something and his name is up) just got me this book and I can not set it down. It is based on this couple getting a dog, told from the husbands perspective, but it is really about life. I will not give anything away in case anyone decides to pick up a copy, but as a parent and owner of a large dog, literally you will be crying and 5 pages later laughing hysterically.
