Hello! I am a new stay at home mom to a 1 yr old boy. We just recently moved to a new town and decided it would be best for me to stay at home with our child (children in the future also). I am loving it so far...but my son is so busy and does not want to play with any toys. With the tight economy I am not sure if we can afford playgroups unless they are free..and we don't know anyone in this town for kiddie playdates yet. We live in Wisconsin and its cold so we can't really play outside..but I need suggestions of things we can to do teach, stimulate, and keep him entertained! So far, I've had no luck. Any suggestions that you do would be SOO appreciated! I want to make sure I do this stay at home mom thing the right way!!!! Thank you!

The local library is a great resource. They have weekly story time, which for 1 yr olds is more singing and playing than reading. It is a great way to meet others and get the wiggles out. The library can also be a connection for other local events that you may not have heard about. The local mom club is usually free and has weekly times to meet at a different house each week. It is hard when you feel isolated, but in time you will meet some great people who are also hard working stay at home moms. Enjoy you little one while it lasts!
