do basic maintenance upkeep on your vehicle? I'm talking about things like checking oil and antifreeze levels and tire pressure.
I ask because this morning when I was at the gas station this woman was trying to put air in her tire but instead was letting it out! And so when I got out to assist her because I knew what she was doing wrong,I took my tire gauge with me and she looked at it and asked,"what's that?!" I told her it was a tire gauge and she said,"how do you use that?!"
I took her tire pressure for her and showed her what the gauge read and she said,"what does that mean?!"
So basically I filled her tire FOR HER which she was greatful for since she had NO CLUE of what to do herself and it just got me thinking that ALL women should really know the simple basics of things like this and was wondering how many of you do or don't?

I can do the bare basics. I do have a tire gauge of my own, my hubby bought me a pretty one. lol. My hubby also taught my daughter all the basics and purchased her, her own tire gauge, and emergency things for her car. But, I did no know how to use one until I was 30. My mom could put in a new transmission. But It did not pass on to me. You are right Lizzi, we do need to know these things.

My dad taught me the basics years ago but I wish I could have become my own mechanic like he is. When my car breaks down I'm clueless as to what's wrong and how to fix it. LOL That's when my dad or brother has to come to my rescue!

I know how to do most of the basics, but we need to take our vehicles to be serviced every 500km because they are under warranty... you don't want to not have that if something goes, so we really can't do much else than put bug juice in for the windshield.

I know how to, but I chose not to do it. That is hubby's job. But if in a pinch I can do it.

I do think women should know how to do basic maintenance. I do my own if needed! I wont bother with my own oil changes only because it is cheap enough to bring it to a jiffy lube. For $20.00 they will do it for you and a lot quicker than you can do it on your own.

I can check all my fluids and put air in a tire, we have an air compressor with air tools, mostly mine...lol....hubby changes the oil, brakes, roters, anything greesy I let him do...but I suppose I could if I HAD to! I'm the maitenance lady around here, if anything is broken or needs built I'm usually the one to do it.
