Apparently the SIDS rates are up this year by 20% ! and its to do with the fact..parents are trying to keep there child centred in a sleeping posistion so they dont get that little "bumped" effect on the back of the skull

They reccomend that you actually have the child on its side now...bumpered up so the child cant roll on to its stomach.

I thought i would share :)

I never had olbi on his back FLAT..i kinda always had him on the side with bumpers up..and a few people commented how his head was a little odd shaped..that is until i switched the sides of the head he lies on..so one night he is on his left, next night he is on his right..his head is almost perfect now. :)

Yeah - I never layed mine flat when she was a baby. She would have choked due to her reflux anyway. She was swapped from side to side with her head elevated.

This is good info for those with lil ones!

braden refuses to sleep on his side or back, he can already roll over, so even if i do put him that way with things around him, he kicks them away and moves around and rolls onto his tummy.

My son sleeps in his swing due to relux...well now its habit...but he turns his head all over...My poor girlfriends baby has to wear a helmet 23 hours a day to reshape her head

There was a video on my myspace..he is 2-3 months old..and he is just going crazy. I will send you the link through myspace and you can have a look..

it gets worse believe me..he gets so excited..especially when he knows he is having his bath..i start taking his clothes off and his legs go nuts..his arms are in the air..i pick the kid up and he nearly jumps out of my arms..he kicks into my side all the way to the bathroom...see's his bathtub full of water and then punches me in the face just for good measure...

Psycho baby i swear

Yeh babies need "tummy time" even 5 minutes a day. Its to help build the strength.

hes been able to lift his head and turn it side to side while laying on his tummy since he was about 2-3 weeks old. he could lift his head when he was born pretty much. hes a strong boy. my doc said put him on his stomach, either way he will put himself there.
