Somehow, whether it’s the fact that they think they’re anonymous, or that the Net brings out the daredevil in us, I don’t know. But please don’t let your kids (or yourselves) fall into the trap of saying and doing things online that they know shouldn’t be said or done. We need to teach them that they can be traced, and that nothing is ever truly anonymous online. Everything they say should be said with the understanding that others will know, sooner or later, that they said it.

Yes thats why there is software you can purchase and download that "babysits" children online.

Wont let them type certain words
Keeps copies of certain words they do type ie: Porn

Parental locks and everything else..the internet is a little bit more advanced..but hey thanks for telling us all something we already know!

I think we should be teaching our children (and reminding ourselves) to have manners and ethics online.......we do in the real world.....we shouldn't just rely on software to enforce boundries and morals!

i didnt say rely on software..its there to protect the children as well.

Do you REALLY honestly think telling a teenage boy..not to look at porn and sitting him down having discussions with him about it being wrong will stop him cinner?

No i dont think so

my comment was that we needed more then just software in this day and age.....and yes, I do believe that you can raise your child to not look at porn......it takes a lot of work I'm sure but that is our job as mothers.....to teach them what is right and wrong.

Holy crap are you serious??? you CANNOT stop a teenage boy from looking at porn..if it be on TV, the Internet or magazines...ask ANY male......its almost impossible especially when they have those hormones racing at a certain age

I had a friend when i was growing up, her family is strick catholic..they REFUSED to let her watch TV..she agreed..and sucked it up..she was such a well behaved girl..but whenever she come around to my house she watched TV...and lied to her parents about it..

Idk cinner...you dont have teenagers do you? JW

I think if you have resigned yourself to the fact that they will do something bad then you will never really try and teach them that it's bad.....all you are teaching them is that you can catch them.......they deserved to be taught what is right and what is wrong!

Yeh fair enough..i would love to see how you go 10 years from now ( not being sicastic..) i just remember how i was like...and many of my friends..and we where ALL raised properly with morals and ethics...You can do and try as hard as you can..sometimes you just dont get the end result you want

but that shouldn't stop you from trying!

Everything they say should be said with the understanding that others will know, sooner or later, that they said it.

WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP

or...

sooner or later someone will mess with what you say and write it up as how THEY SAW IT...FAKE PROOF.

what says you babycrowd helper....how do you defend that?!?

you can teach a child what is right and wrong, but you cant be there 24/7

but when the teenage years come and IF they become curious about something eg porn, the chances are they will look at it.
