That we need power tools. Men have a power tool for everything. I saw an infomercial for a gadget that looked like a sander for the shower, only it looked like cheap plastic. I sat there thinking how much cleaning we do by hand. Why don’t we have power tools that do the job for us. Like a toilet scrubber with power, or a real duster that is seriously powerful.

Fridges SHOLD ONLY be designed by a woman.......a woman who USES her fridge.......DAily.......another miserable item to clean ..........and no matter how much money you pay......there is always something......not just right!

hey Maxi, and have you noticed the things they do make for us are cheaply made and don’t work all that great. hahaha. Yes, a power washer for the microwave and refrigerator. And I still have not found a mop that is awesome. I just bought an upright floor scrubber, but I haven’t used it yet.

yeah i sure have........

for instance......swifter wet jet......hunk of crap. The concept is great......but, the handel if you are ya know "workin" that thing around really well.......give it time it will crack. Two of mine have done that. To boot.......the solution that you have to buy for it....is junk.....it leaves a film on the floor.....so though it looks nice when done and your standing back admireing your work.....walk on it......and then look. You see EVERY foot print. I hate that stuff....i strated to make my own for pitty sake it was so crappy. All those things.....one of two things is always true......its made cheeply and with not near enough power! OR, the products to go with..........are garbage. They are like toy maker people......constantly producing rubbish......but you just "gotta" try them.....only to find nothing but a disapointment. @#@!!!!

yea, we show every foot print, I thought it was my new floor. Drives me crazy.

are you useing a swifter or something like that that requires solution?? if so........before i type my heart out.....let me know...i can tell you what will stop that.

I was, buy now I have an electric floor scrubber. The floor was new, so I assumed it was the floor not the swiffer I used. But the swiffer I did not like.

k, well your issue MAY now be solved. BUT for those gals that still use an item like that.......with the solution this is what you do.

DONT put the NEW bottle in..........right away. Get hubby to (though most of us a clearly capable) to drill a good size hole at the bottom of the bottle. NOT larger though than the "snap close pour spout" on a tetra pack of juice. Rip that pour spout off a juice container and remove the glue and paper. NOW.....drain that new bottle into a measure cup. Make sure the bottom of the bottle is free of any remaining solution. EVERY HOME WITH KIDS.......should have a product you can purchase at any hardware location.....ive even seen it at walmat with the contact cement and so on. Its called "Goop" if you need something glued a shoe a toy anything you MIGHT use hot glue on.....(but it often still wont hold) .........apply some of this to the bottom of the bottel....around the hole. Place the pour spout around the hole..........over the goop......and let it set up a few hours.

NOW........put the bottle in the swifter. Why wait? Well i have taken one of those apart. IF.....you stick you finger in the hole the neck of the bottle goes.......you will feel some sharp prongs. EVERY time you put that bottle in......then take it out......the holes in the rubber.....get bigger. It begins to leak. So....you just want to put it in........once.

NOw......the solution you have in the measure cup put about an 1/8 of of a bottle of that solution back in. Add something NONE corrosive......like Fantastick....(i found that worked best) and just a about oh say 1/8 to 1/4 cup of that. Fill the remainder with water. Save your solution in a container..............and the yuck of the prints and film left on the floor will not longer occur.

Now......you have only purchased ONE bottle of solution (ya need it anyway for the bottle) have tons left......and you just fill as necessary. Sounds like some work.........but its not really. Its easy to do.......and the results.......much better.

SORRY.......should read 1/8 of the origional bottle.......just to be clear its NOT an 1/8 of a measure cup. Same for the fantastic.

oh ......ps.....yes a NON corrosive product like fantastic.......but ALSO.....NOT something that creates bubbles. You will get a back up of bubbles in the line and it wont want to spray. How do i know........spareaments lololol!!!!!!!

yeah i bought that swiffer wet jet thing and it sucks a dirty a**...it leaves the floors all filmy, and I don't think it cleaned AT ALL....i'd use it and then even after washing the floors i could tell the floors were still dirty cause Anika's feet would be like BLACK!!! and I'd think, wtf??? i just washed the floors!!! then my mil told me to just use that lysol 4in1 and dilute it with hot water, and just use a plain bucket and mop....well at first I had to change the water about 6 TIMES, cause the water would get SOOOO dirty so fast.....that swiffer was just spreading the dirt around, and I was doing that for like a month....so yeah, my floors were TERRIBLE!!!! but now i keep up with the mop and after i'm done the water is still clear...nice clean floors for anika now!!! :-)

Name: bmes | Date: Aug 23rd, 2007 5:20 PM
maxie i tried to fill that swiffer bottle up, but it still didn't wash the floors like I like them.

Name: maxieellis | Date: Aug 23rd, 2007 5:23 PM
yeaaaaaaaah aint that gorss!!!! YUCK.....actually...since i long ran out of the solution.........but still have the bottle.......i just use fantastic....and water. The concept is great if you just need a quick clean ya know. But nothing beats (so faaar :|) gettin on the old hands and knees and right into the corners......which i still do too........grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

The best tools a woman could ever have are her own two hands. Most of the fad cleaners you ladies speak of don't really work well. Elbow grease is the best tool. Rain I had one of those sander like shower gadgets before and they are simply to time consuming, truthfully you can get the job done much quicker your self. I also have the wet jet I find it to be great for vinyl flooring, I have also found the swifter dry is great on hard wood.

Name: Lizzi | Date: Aug 23rd, 2007 6:09 PM
rain you better patent that idea BEFORE someone else DOES!!!!

Name: bmes | Date: Aug 23rd, 2007 6:22 PM
i guess the reason men need power tools and we don't, is cause MEN ARE LAZY FKERS!!!!!! nothing would ever get done if they couldn't use a power tool to get the job done!!

Name: bmes | Date: Aug 23rd, 2007 6:26 PM
lindalu...i like the dry swiffer too...but i find you have to sweep with a broom FIRST, and then use the swiffer....cause i find that if you get like hard crummies and little rock or sand on it it doesn't touch the floor and then you leave all kinds of stuff behind....so i usually sweep with a broom to get the crummies and big pieces away and then swiffer to get all the dust, dirt and cat hair and whatnot....THEN i have to mop....lol...

yeah.......ever ask hubby to hang a picture or somein.... :|

Raymond here.........needs ALL the bits and bobs BEFORE he can manage it. Tool belt, measure tape.....POCKET of NAILS??!, hammer.........hell.....ive found i can do it faster with a shoe??!!!!!!!!! I dont ask .....well, not unless i need a giggle! :)

OR............y'all can be like me .......skip the patten......and just "soup up" what they provide llllllllllmao!!!!!! I do it all the time. I got a, ya know...battery operated boom........that thing.....will suck up ANYTHING........hhhhhhhhahahhah..............i put a far more powerful battery in it.....and NOW i have something worth havin. Much easier......less time consumining......than Pattens......i let them do the thinkin......and i just .....impove and refine lllllllllllmao why not??!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, this whole conversation led me to believe I just need someone else to do it. I am old, and I am not gong to take it anymore. I want to do other things. Or I want to do nothing at all, who cares, but I am done with the house work period.
You know what would be cool also. A house swap, you go to your friends house and keep all the kids while she cleans your house, then switch, she keeps the kids and you clean her house. It is fun to clean other people houses, was to me anyway.

yeah im with ya there rain. Im 46 SICK to DEATH of fricken cleaning and scrubbin till i am worn right out .............entirely!!!!!!!

Humm.......ya know.....I wonder how much it would cost.....to have someone come to do all the things i hate. Wash the floors, clean the bathrooms, windows and walls when required, all the nasty stuff. No time sooooooon but soon enough. Think im there at this point in my life. I dunno......when the kids are in school full time.....maybe it wont be so bad. Hours of the day they would have been home......messin stuff up.....they arnt anymore......i'll wait till then to be sure....but still...i am certain i could find something for them to do....a maid that is.

I have the Mr. clean one....like the swifter.....I use it for quick clean ups, but do not rely on it for a good clean.....NOTHING cleans like getting on all fours with a scrub brush and a rag and some elbow grease...lol.....but I lobe my Mr. clean mop thing for quick clean ups and touch ups during the week:)

Oh one of the new things out their that I love are the dusters......ithey actually hold onto the dust and you just through it out when you are done.....I love them....let me go look for the name hold on.....its the swifter dusters...I LOVE EM!

also I much prefer vacuming the floors rather then sweeping.......the kids sweep daily some times a few times a day, but I find a run with the cacuum works great!
