Books by Virginia Miller - "Be Gentle!", "I Love You Just the Way You Are", "Go to Bed!"
Jan Ormerod "Peek-a-boo!" (for very little ones, no words, pages flip to show babies' faces)
Nursery rhymes (Mother Goose type)

I personally go first on the Internet to see what is out there before heading out to any store (and for the most part end up ordering from Amazon, because then I'm more sure of the quality of the content, based on people reviews and descriptions. Amazon also has categories: baby -3, 4-8, so on)

Read books by Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Enid Blyton if you want her to grow to be intelligent!

I decided a few years ago to go back and start rereading all the old classics that I didn't really get into in High School and College. When my daughter was born I was reading Catcher In The Rye and so I just started reading it out loud. I've also read bit of A Tale Of Two Cities, and To Kill a Mockingbird to my daughter. My daughter was just happy to be close to me and hearing my voice. I still read to her -- mostly her books now and she still loves it. It's a great way to educate your children and spend close quality time with them.

Baby Einstien has a lot of cute/educational books for younger babies. We love the book Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born,, By Jamie Lee Curtis, and I Love You Stinky Face right now oh and anything to do with Dora The Explorer.
