It's weird, cause you all have been talk about chili lately, and then James came home yesterday, and told me I needed to make chili for all the guys at work. LOL....a few times throughout the summer, I have to make a massive batch of chili for everyone at his work. James used to bring leftovers of chili to work once in a while, and now they all try to steal his lunch when it's chili day!!
ANYWAYS...here's my recipe if anyone is interested:
1. Ground Beef
2. Onion
3. Garlic Powder
4. Lee & Perrins
5. Tobasco
6. Italian Seasoning
7. Crushed Chillies
8. Can of Red Kidney Beans
9. Can of Plum Tomatoes
10. Can of Corn
11. Chili Powder
12. Ketchup (squirt)
13. Brown Sugar (just enough so there's not that REALLY acidic tomoatoey taste.
Sautee #1-7 until beef is cooked
Add #8-13 and simmer slowly until desired thickness.
With the chilli powder, I just add a little at a time, until I find the taste I like.
Sorry I got no measurments. LOL....i eyeball everything! anyways.....it seems like my chili is a hit.....I think it's pretty good!! :-)
Oh yeah and serve some dinner buns with it to dip into the chili with. yum!!! ↓

sometimes I'll put the chili into individual size dishes and then put cheese on top and bake it in the oven for a bit!!! tastey tastey!! :-) ↑ |
I don't seem to like anyones chilli but my own for some reason. ↑ |
lol lizzi! i'm the same way but this does sound yummy lol ↑ |
It's really funny cause whenever I do eat what someone else made,I first check out the appearance of it and texture, and think,"well it doesn't LOOK like MY chilli. So then I'll try it and think,"Mine's better by far!!!!!" LOL Someday I want to have a chilli cook off with the other people in my family that make it and let others in the family "judge" hehe!! Mine would so EASILY WIN!!!!!! And the funniest thing yet is I bet mine wouldn't require HALF the ingredients or effort theirs does!!!!! hehe!! :) ↑ |
I make better beef and noodles than my aunt and grandma too! :) ↑ |
you wouldn't have a big head over your chili now...would you???
lolol j/k hehehe
yours sounded yummy too but hubby likes his more thick so i use the sauce and and juice ↑ |
LOL i make the best lasagna!!!! hehehehe ↑ |
hdc,I will give you your lasagna "only because I've never made it"!!!!! LOL I do pride my cooking,it's GOOD!!!! :) I can do desserts pretty well too :) I'd be good in a bakery shop! And then I'd sell my chilli on the side! LOL ↑ |
My chilli beats out any restaurant chilli like Steak n Shake or Wendy's!!! I'd love to sell my chilli!!! There's this guy in the town next to ours and every saturday he sets up a grill in the video store parking lot and cooks and sells steak and pork chop sandwiches. I should go there and sell my chilli and cookies! LOL ↑ |
Hey,that'd be a nice cash paying part time job!!!!!!??? ↑ |
Hmmm? I wonder who i would have to talk to in order to do that? I should go talk to the pork chop guy! ↑ |
Sounds good Bmes and somewhat similiar to mine. However, I sometimes put in diced celery and mushrooms. I sometimes substitute ground beef for stewing beef that melts in your mouth-- it is that tender. And always cook mine in the crock-pot. ↑ |
one thing I can't make is Borscht. Well I can make it, and it's good, but I choose not to make it!! lol.....James' side of the family are all Russian and they make THE best borscht EVER. nope...don't even say yours is better, cause James' baba will kick any of your asses when I comes to making borscht. I don't make it, cause I know I'll get compared to hers and I know hands down hers is the best. It's funny though, James' babas, mom, aunts, all the women in the family, all have a silent competition on who's borscht is better. James' mom makes it all the time when we visit, and she'll always make some kind of comment to see if we'll say hers is better than someone elses. LOL....but we never EVER would tell her that baba's is by far better!! ha ha haha!! ↑ |
