Oh so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you all. Life has been chaotic for us. One doctor appointment after the other.

I would first like to say Thank you so much for the well wishes and prayers. It means a lot to me to know that people to ban together when in need and that there is power in prayer.

Now as for Hunter. His jaw is not broken. Whewwww!. However he did cut his cheek from the far back right to his lip. He now has a mouth full of lovely stitches as the cut almost went right through his cheek and he is missing some chunk of flesh (I just shudder at the thought of him swallowing it.) He is on antibiotics as an infection had set in from Sunday (when we saw the first doctor) to Tuesday (when we went to our family doctor). We also have been giving him Xylocaine orally to numb his mouth up...just enough that he can drink a milkshake or swallow pudding. He can't chew anything as both his cheek, throat and tongue lose feeling with this lovely drug. The muscles in his jaw were basically in shock and since he knew when he moved his mouth it hurt he did not move..so things got tight and that is the reason for the jaw lock. (thank goodness for muscle relaxants).

He has been to see a dentist and it looks like he will be losing a couple of teeth.....nothing in front..all on the right side of his face. One is going to be capped to see if it can stay long enough for the adult teeth to come in. Grand total for his dental surgery is $635. (That is our cost 20% our insurance does not cover and 10% specialist fee). He will be having the procedure done mid May and will be put under for it, as well as they will be giving him a drug to wipe out his memory of the dental experience.

Today, he is doing much better...he even went to preschool to show the kids his stitches.....so gross, but I guess it is a boy thing. I have just come back from London Drugs where I purchased some feet sticker things for the bottom of the tub, tacky I know but I cannot have a repeat of this happening. I have learned my lesson.

Anyway, thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers. We were definately lucky this time

ewww....i guess i missed where you must have said what happened, but I'm assuming he fell in the tub or something? that sucks so bad!!!! At least it sounds like he's doing good now!!! be careful with those things you put in the tub. they're stickers right? not suction ones? the ones with suction cups on the bottom will still slide around!! James put some in the tub when I was pregnant with Anika cause he was paranoid of me falling when pregnant. And he nearly killed me anyways!! ha hah a!! now we have the ones that are like stickers. well i hope things are going well for you now then!! ttyl

I am glad all went well. That was awful. What good products are new and good for this. I do not like those sticker things. They don’t clean well enough for me. I will look this up. Good for us all to think about. My daughter bought a big insert for her tub in her apartment. You take it out to clean.

i think there's something you can actually spray on the bottom of the tub and it makes it kinda textured. we're thinking we might do that, cause you're right rain, they don't clean very well....i'm always ripping them out and putting new ones in! lol

one of my friends told me about it, I haven't actually seen it yet. we're going to go shopping for it maybe this weekend if we got time. but i was told you can buy it in a home hardware store, like Rona, or Home Hardware.....i don't know what you guys have in the States or other countries, but that's what we got in Canada!! anyways....if you go to any place like that and ask the staff there, they should know what you're talking about! or maybe even a Bathroom Store of some kind! ???

It is like paint mixed with sand. They use it on boat decks. We had it put in the bottom of our shower...cleans easy and works great. We got a tub mat to put down on the bottom if anyone wants to take a bath. It's a little rough on the hiney lol.

yeah but it's not like sandpaper...they're more like bigger bumps....

Mine is a little bigger than sandpaper...maybe like the really rough sandpaper but not as sharp. That does not make sense at all LOL! Sorry : )

lol, I am picturing it. This is what will happen. I will get on a mission to rid my home of slippery tubs, due to now seeing the danger is imminent. I will buy products, that remove all the skin from our bodies, or worse, and hubby will come to me raw and red, asking me what I was up to. It happens every time. But, we will be slip free, and that is all that matters. lol
