I took an elective course in nursing school on sexually transmitted diseases and we were taught that the Only thing you could catch was crabs. Wouldn't want that either though! The thing is when people don't sit on the seat they end up urinating all over it and I think that is more unsanitary (esp if it gets on the floor!!) I usually use those seat covers or make my own from toilet paper.

i was watching tyra the other day and she had a bunch of scientists on there testing her make- up brushes and stuff. they also were talking about public restrooms. they said that they are alot cleaner than you think. also she gave some tips on how to keep for getting anything.
1. use the first stall, it is used less often
2. pick one that looks half- way decent(ya know not the real nasty ones)
3. always wash your hands
4. use paper towels if they have them. the blow dryers ususally have more germs on them than the toliet seats do.

i also saw on oprah that someone did a study on ice you get in your drinks for resturants. they took samples for the ice and then a sample from the resturants toliet water. 9 out of 10 resturants tested had more bacteria in their ice than in their toliets. ORDER YOUR DRINKS WITH NO ICE!!!!!!!!!

I heard that you can get herpes from someone who has it and does not have an outbreak. I did not know you can get it from a toilet seat.

Just carry can of Lysol with you and spray the seat before you sit!

the way u can get it is if a lady have blisters on her butt and u go right in after she does to pee.if a male has it on his penis and touches a tap or door knock just be4 your bf or hubby does with out washing his hand he can get it that way.so many people think u can't wel it is a proven fact.a cold sore is herpes too so u kiss a person with one u can get the herpes virus.there is too types of herpes virus1 and virus2.do some research if u want to know more about it.80% people carry herpes virus and they don't know they don't not everyone has an out break of blisters.

I always get those stupid cold sores in the corners of my mouth. The weird thing is I can go months without them and then all of a sudden one will develope out of the blue and they seem to take forever to get rid of. I have the best luck ridding them by just keeping them lubricated with chapstick.I have a family full of (kissers) and I hate that! My grandpa gets these cold sores too but it doesn't stop him from kissing everyone at get togethers. I hate that crap when everyone thinks they have to kiss you goodbye or hello at get togethers, yuck! it grosses me out and I always try to turn my head so they get my cheek instead of my lips but it doesn't always work out that way. And some of them even get offended if you won't let them kiss you on the lips! I hate it! I would rather wave from across the room myself!
