One i like and have posted before is rock painting. co find good rocks and let the kids paint . I use basic craft paint then coat with a acrylic (spelling) spray. cheap and kids love it.

I had my older 2 make homemade play dough, we had everything on hand, and they play with it more than the store bought stuff, and it doesn't seem to dry out as quickly. My next project is to make homemade beads with the kids. But, I want to wait for my step-son to be here, so him and Alexis can do it together. I also, am in the midst of making doll clothes for Alexis' american girl doll.

Love the homemade play dough. I've also found that my 2 year old likes the homemade play dough better then the store bought stuff. Which is fine with me because it's actually cheaper to make it then to buy it and I have found that it keeps better as well.

Charla great that the rocks where a success. its so simple and they love. Its funny we did bird houses as well but they like the rocks the best for some reason. Did you date them on the bottom. years to come you will be glad you did that.

Yeah, I take a few trips a month to my Michaels craft store and just pick out fun, creative things to do. I just started this since staying home full time with my daughter and love it!
