my 7 mo old has had 5-6 ear infections in the past month!! she even gets them on antibiotics!! The next step is the shots for 3 days and then the drains!! i am so sad for her. i give her tylenol, and motrin for the ache and the numbing drops as well. She is having a hard time breastfeeding and is against taking a bottle. Anyone else have this problem?

My son had this problem and had to have ear tubes put in. Since then not one infection. I would suggest sooner rather than later though if she needs them, as my son was almost one and now he is late in starting to talk.

My 7 yr old...would get sick all the time...take her to the doc. & she'd puke all over every time...I tried to tell them she couldn't hear...4 hearing tests which she didn't pass & several months...later...may have been over a ;year...at 3 years old they finally put tubes in her ears...was a blessing...she went from wearing 12 mos. clothing at 3 years old...not hearing or talking......to talking at breakfast the day of surgery....to similar in size to other kids her age...

website is really good about describing ear infections. My little girl just had her tonsils and adenoids out and they put the tubes in her ears at the same time. She's been pretty sick for the last two weeks but I'll tell ya it's better than the ear aches all the time. She's 3 years old.

When do they think they will fall out Karen? My son is almost two and I think they said they fall out sometime after 2.

I really don't know. They promised me (hahaha) that she would see a big improvement in her health. Her tonsils were huge which made her snore. The other girls wouldn't sleep in the same room. They just said she would out grow them and they would be gone. It's been a hard two weeks.

I am sorry to hear that Karen it is so hard when kids are sick, I know I'd rather go through it myself then see them sick. Hope she feels better soon.
