I am not against welfare. Some people do need it. What I am against is the people that ABUSE it and trick the system. I am not on it, I am presently on maternity lewave. In Canada we are in title to 1 year off and we get the parental insurance which gives you money while you are off. You have to have worked to be able to get this ↑ |
My views on welfare:
I think it is an excellent thing for WORKING families to have for themselves and children. I FEEL that you should have a job in order to receive it. What pisses me off is all of the lazy a** people that get welfare that dont deserve it! The people that wont get off their a** and get a job. The people that live off the system! AAAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHH that really ticks me off!!!! I dont qualify for welare because I actually have a job! ↑ |
amen... first off wow I want to live in Canada!! Secondly. I am on public assistance... I wouldnt say welfare because I dont get cash but I do get our state medical card and I am a working mom. I agree with the other posts. It is great in fact I wish they would be more linient on the families that are working but just cant seem to keep caught up. Instead the more you work the more you are punnished. ↑ |
right... right! My daughter ALSO has the medical card but I don't qualify for it anymore. Since you are a working mom...(mommyagain) I want you to read the post that says (to angel of mine 2006 please read) there is a stay at home mom that says that we shouldnt have children unless we are going to change our lives and stay at home with them!!!!!!!!!!!! ↑ |
We don't get cash but we do get a medical card for the family and a small amount of foodstamps.I don't work but my husband does. There was a short time when he had lost his job that we got $360 in foodstamps. As soon as I reported he was working part-time,the foodstamps fell to $128.He is starting to pick up more hours though now so our foodstamps will drop even more, probably down to around $70.They won't let anyone get ahead,as soon as you have income, they start cutting.I'm sure that's the reason some choose not to work at all because if they do then they can kiss nearly all the (help) goodbye. However,I thought that welfare had put a 5 year limit on how long any 1 person/family could collect benefits,I don't know what happened with that,if they later booted the plan or what!? ↑ |
To Lizzi:
I dont think there is a 5 year limit in Texas...my mother in law (enough said) has been on food stamp for 6 years and she doesnt even have the thought of looking for work...she gets child support and food stamps..that is her only income and she is okay with that...she REFUSES to work...people like this are the ones that should NOT be able to collect. This is ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM. ↑ |
