I was a full-time stay at home mom for two years. Now I am back to work, part-time, and love it! I get the best of both worlds - adult interaction and time with the kids. If anyone has the opportunity to do this, you should definitely try it!

I have to agree! I did my maternity leave but didn't want to go back to work right away. But money speaks louder than wishes, so I decided to work from home. BIG mistake! My daughter just wanted to play all the time, I couldn't get anything done and I was really starting to go stir crazy. Luckily, I have a really understanding boss as well as another woman in my office who was also in the same position. So, our boss let us do a job share and I have to say it was such a great idea! I'm making money (although not as much if I was working full time again), I get to get out of the house regularly and actually talk to other adults but I still have time to be at home and be with my daughter. She's going to start pre-school soon, so I hope to start working a few more hours a week and slowly ease my self back into the full-time working world.
So, if you're a mom that wants to work and be at home, go part-time or job share, it's the best thing out there!

I am just as lucky I work part time for home.... My partner and I have started a sustainable plumbing company and in 3 years it has grown to the point Im in the office for 3 daysas week. The balance is still a struggle and the adult interaction is lacking hence Im in chat mode.... but its good/

You are very lucky to have the best of both worlds. I just went back to work after being home with both my children. My son starts kindergarten this Mondy and my 3 yr old just started preschool. they both are so excited about their new schools and potential friends. they have made it so easy for me to go back full time because they are so independant and they make me feel I am doing the right thing. I value the weekends more now and spend better quality time with them. GT
