I am a working mom with three kids and I love my job. But recently i find that i am missing out on all the exciting things going on in my kids lives. No one is even home for them during the day. I am thinking about switching to part time work to be with them more. Any one done this?

I think that if you love your kids so much and want to be with them, then you should investigate part time work. Hopefully that's an option for you. I know some people just aren't so lucky. Maybe you could get a leave of absence or something for a little while, just to test it out?

I am also planing on doing they same thing. I'm expecting my first child in Oct and I have over an hour drive to/from work daily; even though my mother will be watching the baby, I still only want to work 2-3 days a week

I am currently pregnant and working part-time as well as at uni and setting up my business and building a house. It sounds all very hectic but we move in house house this Friday, I will only be working until the baby arrives and this is my last semester at uni.

The busines is operational from home so I will have the best of both worlds. The reason I am telling you all of this is because I agree that you have to be there for your children's new and exciting stages of development.

You can work part time so you still have an element of independance where you can converse with other adults about current affairs while still enjoy the important aspects of life and the reason why you had the babies in the first place - to be a mum.

If you can, work from home. It requires discipline and a scheduled lifestyle but if you can carry it off, it's smiles all round. Good luck.

I am a full time working mom and I also am a Gurrlie Girl Fashion Consultant on the side. It's awesome where you can work Full time or Part TIme and the stuff sells itself (I know it's hard to believe you always hear that right?) But if you are interested I can send a catalog to you. The even more amazing thing is that you can start up with no money out of your pocket, it's earned. If you truly want some more information about this e/mail me at [email protected]

I found an idea for you to stay at home and work on your own terms and very part time doing what you are doing now, the only thing is you will bet paid for it. This program is less than twenty dollars, easy to do and you can make money without any further investment. This program also has a support system where you can email the person and actually get a good response the next day. Just check out the website and read her story, you will understand what I am talking about!! So here is the link, check it out:

I haven't done that, honestly this is my first baby and I can't imagine missing any milestones in his life. I think that if your budget can survive on your husbands paycheck alone than you can definitely go to part time because then you'll know that everything will be taken care of and you will still be bringing home extra money. If you need both of your income then see if going part time is what you really want to do....if so then its your husbands responsibility to step up as a provider and work as much as it takes to compensate the lost income. If your single then if your budget can stand you going part time I say go for it. Children only grow up once and its best to be there for everything they consider important!!!
