I have an eight month old baby and am just starting a new job when I found out that I am pregnant. How do I tell my new company. I know from past experience that I gain weight so quickly that I only have about 6 weeks. ↓

You should explain to your company that you didn't know you were pregnant when you applied and accepted the job. Any job worth having will have employers that will understand and appreciate your situation. You may be surprised too...people often deserve more credit than we give them. Try talking to your boss, and get things sorted out. One way or another, things will work out. ↑ |
I hear you. When I applied for my job I did not know I was expecting. Then, they gave the job to somebody else and I found out I was pregnant. I was talking to my now boss a week later and he said that he thought I would be more suitable for the job and asked me to start with the company.
I started this week but have not said anything yet. I dont plan to just yet either. I want to see how I like the job and if I feel it is right for me. There are 2 sides to consider, not just theirs. I say, if you like the job and want to stay after say 3 weeks, then you can tell them and like Krista said, if they are worth working for they will probably be more accepting than you think.
The most important thing at the moment is make sure YOU are happy. Good luck and take care :) ↑ |
Dear lb:
The best thing for you to do is talk to your manager or human resource. You must let them know, the sooner the better. You gain weight quickly due to your eating habits or just pregnancy. It's normal to gain some weight but if its 20lbs or more then check with your OBGYN.
Goodluck and Best Wishes. Most of all congratulations!!!!!!!! ↑ |
hello my kids are 18 months apart oh my its like having twins my poor husband is a stay at home dad. However We would change it for anything in the world ↑ |
Just tell your company like you'd tell anyone else. But be professional about it of course. If they can't understand you being pregnant then maybe it's not such a good company to work for. Anyone who doesn't understand a woman being pregnant just isn't right. It's not like you're leaving tomorrow but you'll be there to stick it out until the baby's born and then you'll be back. ↑ |
Well i guess my advice is too tell your boss in private as soon as possible. Waiting i think will only make it harder to do. ↑ |
I think it is important that you tell your new employer. The Family Leave Act (a federal law) entitles you to so much time off (it is up to your employer whether it is paid or unpaid), but the stipulation is that you cannot be fired for taking time off because of a pregnancy. They cannot cut your salary and you are guaranteed to have your job when you return from maternity leave. Most important, your employers need to know that you are pregnant so if an emergency occurs, they can treat you appropriately. Hope that helps! Best of luck! ↑ |
I KNOW THAT IS RIGHT, FORGET THAT JUST QUIT LOL...... NO THAT IS A BIT MUCH ↑ |
You just need to be strait with them they will understand more if you are honest than if you try to hide it. I will be okay. ↑ |
Wow! 6 weeks, i wasn't even showing when i gave birtha nd that's no lie, i'm 100% honest. By the way, why are you pregnant again so soon? ↑ |
My kids are 16 1/2 months a part. I am not going to lie it is hard, but it is also great, because my kids are so close. They truly love each other ↑ |
