ok i know this isnt the right section so sue me. im 15 and i have been smoking since i was 12. i really want to stop smoking, but my dad and my mom smokes. my mom probably buys two cartons of cigarettes a week. shes not gonna quit . everytime i try i smell the smoke from my moms(ahhh the sweet aroma) anyway i need to quit. its getting harder for me to breath everyday. any advice?

Your parents are behaving very irresponsibly by continuing to smoke around you. They should be smoking outdoors and away from you. Have you talked to them about how you feel?

If you're determined to give up then you could ask your pharmacist or doctor about some nicotine replacement therapy - I'm not sure how old you have to be before you can use these products. They help to take the edge off the cravings. Other than that, it's just a case of sticking it out - it does get easier as time goes on, but it would be a whole lot easier if your parents supported you by removing the temptation. I think that you need to talk to them about this issue.
