My daughter was diagnosed 6 weeks ago with ADHD. She started taking 24 mg of Straterra. Her teacher and I agreed that it didn't seem to be helping. The only difference was that she was extremely emotional. Two days ago, I took her to a pediatrician who specializes in ADHD. He prescribed Concerta. Today was the first day she took it, and before bed she became EXTREMELY emotional. She cried and said "I don't wanna be crabby! I don't know what's making me be like this!" It absolutely broke my heart. I don't know if this is normal. I wasn't a parent who wanted to medicate my child at all and now I feel like I'm failing her because she's so sad. Does anyone have any advice?
