She thinks before she leaves the house everything has to be perfect. Her hair has to be that way, her shoes have to be tied a certain way. I don't know what to do with her being like this. I love Her very much.

Wow
I was just looking on here for something else but I saw your question and I have to respond. I have 2 daughters with add
both very different- very different. And of cource you love her very much. Its ok her shoes and hair and all the other things have to be that way right now. LET GO. Find out what kind of adhd she has. What type. Talk to her Docotor. If the Doctor will not help remember you are her ( daughters) only advacate. Make the Dr. help. Get another Dr.-- You pay for that insurance and if not it is provided by the state. She is doing this because she can't help herself. Find out why and then help her control the difficulties of the ADD. Because you know what you do when you take those away. YOU get to find the gift she has hidden. Follow your instincts they are never wrong if they come from you heart.

Have you considered she may have OCD?(obsessive compulsive disorder). What you are describing sounds like something I go through on a daily basis. My therapist belives that is why I own my own cleaning business and am good at it and choose that line of work. At my home everything has a place and it better be there. I kinda agree with Saamie-add and adhd kids don't care a whole lot about much of anything. Just keep going and don't give up on it-as a mother you know when there is a problem-sometimes the DR will dismiss that and don't let them ignore you if one DR doesn't listen find another one that will. I can't tell the nuber of grade school teachers who have told me how thankful they were I didn't give up and let my son slide through the cracks. Hang in there.

ADHD is thought to be on the Autistic Spectrum. This could be why your daughter is showing some "autistic" habits. My foster son who has ADHD is VERY obsessed about what he will eat, about how his collar looks in the morning and about how his socks are put on. On the other hand, he doesn't care at all about his shoelaces, his hair, whether he has food all round his mouth . . . the list is endless. Basically, if it is really driving you insane, I would deliberately tie her shoes differently and then immediately praise her for being so grown up and accepting it like that. Over do the praise - hugs, kisses, "I am so proud of you" etc. That may help. But if these are the only obsessive behaviours I wouldn't be too concerned.

He is 24. my 11 year old is obsessive about being dressed and matching shoes have to be on all the time even in the house. i believe add and ocd have a close connection as well and autism.it is all has simular behavior. there are 7 differant types of adhd. my 9 year old is boarderline adhd she is totaly sloppy and could careless if she matches

This sounds like autism, take her back to the consultant, and get a second opinion, sounds like theres more, to your little girls diagnosis. Has she been diagnosed?

It also sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder. My mother has that and she is not happy unless EVERYTHING is perfect. She will spend 20 minutes straightening a picture until it's just so. She will clean all day and not leave the house until it's spotless. And she will not go out unless her hair and make-up is perfect. Just a thought.

What a great child. She is a genius at organizational skills. She isn't hurting anyone or herself. I would leave her alone and count your blessings.

Turnip (Brassica rapa L.) is a root Brassica crop and has been used as a vegetable for human consumption in Europe since prehistoric times. Turnip root has been a popular livestock fodder for at least 600 years wherever the crop can be grown. For most of that time turnip roots have been managed as forage. Researchers in the United States determined in the early 1900s that turnip roots are valuable energy sources for young ruminant animals. However, livestock farmers at that time were turning away from the Brassica root crops (which also include rutabagas or swedes) for fodder because much hand labor was required for the production and utilization of the large roots. One study showed that the labor requirement on a nutrient basis for these crops was three times that needed for corn silage production.
