Right now my son is going threw all of the medical processes to get on the medication. Meaning he has been to a child study group for his behavior and will be seeing a child psychologist. I was against it at first because my brother has ADHD and honestly it did more harm then good for him. But now I’m willing to try anything.

In the mean time I have tried everything to calm him down, to get him to act right and nothing seems to faze him. For a few weeks he was doing great but honestly the minute he went to that Child Study Group he just went nuts and over the past two weeks he seems to be getting worse. Honestly the other kids in the group seemed much worse then my son and I felt a little relived but I don’t know that he picked up some thing from them or what.

Anyway, putting him in the corner doesn’t do anything for him he just gets frustrated and throws a fit. I have had complaints from the neighbors because he screams bloody murder when I stick him in a corner; apparently they think I abuse him. Yeah right!!! Now I’m so afraid to do anything for fear that the neighbors will call the cops on me and I just don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? I love my son to death and I don’t know what happened to my little angel! ↓

The only thing that helped my son was getting him on medication. I did everything I could to avoid it; he went to psychologists for ADHD, did behavior modification, etc. The medication just helps him stop and think first. After medication, reward systems seem to help him stay on track and control himself. Also, when my son has a fit, my very presence in the room will keep his tantrum going. I have to leave out of sight until he calms down. ↑

I HAVE A 4YR OLD WITH ADHD, AND I COMPLETLY UNDERSTAND THAT HE IS DRIVING U CRAZY. THERE ARE SO MANY DAYS THAT I WANT TO GIVE UP ON HIM AND RUN AWAY. ON THE OTHER HAND THAT IS MY SON AND I LOVE HIM. YOU NEED TO FIND TIME AWAY FOR YOURSELF. ↑
