I had noticed that my children's bookbags, and shoes were smelling like cat piss when they came over to visit. It is an awful strong, harsh smell. The problem is my exes wife has numerous cats. And upon speaking to my ex about the situation, the problem still persists.
What in God's name do you do in a situation like this?

If it's really bad ( lol, and i'm going agaisnt my own "toungue biting" rule here ).. i would just mention to her or your ex about it, and ask them to put the kids stuff up where the cat can't get to it if the cats aren't trained . that's just gross, and that smell NEVER comes out!

I came here to look up a solution myself! My cat for some strange reason loves to piss on my kids backpacks. Anything that is made of rubber or plastic that is sitting on the floor is hit before we can reach down to pick it up. It is a nasty nasty thing and we don't know why it happens - if the backpacks are off the floor there is not a problem. Thank god it does not happen to the shoes!!! Maybe after 16 years its time to kill the cat!!!!!!

Oh yea - and getting rid of the cat is definitely cheaper than buying new shoes for the kids every week!!!! Hows that for home economics?

Explain the story to a judge and bring along something for him to (smell) and tell him that's what your kids come home from their dads smelling like and see what the judge has to say about it. Are your kids allergic by chance? do the get frequent plugged, runny noses? If so,it could be caused by the cats!
