my sisters ex won't help her pay for her daughters braces she's got two 13 & 14, she took him back to court and the judge agreed that its not medical ( the kids really need them, its not just for a pretty smile) I'm trying to find out if there is any program that would help her pay for them, she had been putting way some money but the rise in heating and fuel has left her broke, she is such a good Mom it is breaking her heart that she can't care of this. We are in MA if anyone has any ideas where she might get help. Thank you

Some dentist work on a sliding scale. Try looking on line for State aid. His ex was dental throught the state in NY . You can call Welfare dept they might be able to direct you.
Best of luck.

There are many dental schools that will do braces for a much discounted rate. The only problem is you have to get on a waiting list. I would call any dentistry school in your area.

If they were still married, it would be a JOINT decision on whether they would or would not pay...whether dad had the money or not...whatever, so what makes you think that just because your sister now decides that's what needs to be done, that it must be done? It's ridiculous that she would ask to begin with...again, if they were married, no judge would make him pay for it...so tell her to get herself another job and get them if that's what she wants.

FYI she already works two jobs and the EX owns 3 homes, a porsche and plays golf every week end oh by the way both the dentist and the orthodontist haagree that both kids need the braces. Have you heard of self esteem issues. In the future if you can't offer constructive advice please keep it to your self.

If your sisters income is low enough she can get help from welfare which would pay for dental work for her daughter.
