I just got back from the mall. I took Sophie to get her 9 month portraits done at JC Penney. She's napping now and I know I should too, but I thought I would hop on the computer and check my email and BC - see if anyone had a baby or got pregnant!

Awww... I can't wait to take Alex to get portraits done. He's only 3 months now, so we've just been taking our own pictures at home. I think when he turns one year though, we'll take him to get portraits because that will be right before Christmas and I can send them out in our cards. His one year birthday is on Thanksgiving this year!

I waited until now too. We take tons of pictures at home, but I wanted something a little more professional with the props. They did one of her in just her diapers and draped in pearls - looking in a mirror. It was so cute I ordered a bunch!

BTW - I found a lovey for her at this local boutique. It's not the same one, but she loves it just as much as her original one, and now she sleeps with both of them!!

Yeah, I really want to get cute ones of just him with all their props and then get some family ones where we're all dressed similar. It's corny, but he's still just a baby, so it's okay.

I'm so glad you found her one! I was concerned for her. Obviously, I don't remember being that little, but I'm sure it's really traumatic when you don't have something that you're so attached to.

Did she start crying when you were getting the pictures or did they work really well with her? Alex tends to be a fusser, so I just don't know how taking him somewhere to get pictures done would work. And I don't want the photographer taking crappy pictures just because he's gets frustrated or doesn't have patience for a little baby and just wants to get it over with.

Well keep in mind that she's 9 months now. It's a whole new game at this age. Unless she's over tired or hungry, she never fusses anymore. She had just woken up from her nap, and she did great. The photographer had all kinds of little tricks to get her to make faces, and I actually brought her lovey with her!! They took a really great one of her hugging it. Just plan the picture for right after nap time, bring some snacks, and you'll be fine. They do it quickly too.

Does she like to be naked at 9 months? Alex's favorite times are when he's naked. He loves that bit of time when I'm changing his clothes when he's just in his diaper, or when I completely strip him down to take a bath. He gets so excited when I just go to change his diaper and he thinks that I'm about to take his clothes off. He just loves being naked. It's so cute!

Mu mom has pics of us in the tub when we were babies or in the kiddy pool and we had taken out colthes off. Babies do love to be naked and it is cute, but now a days you can't take pics like that anymore because of all the pervs out there.

I know. I have some cute pics of Sophie in the bath, but I'm afraid to put them on myspace because I don't know if they consider that pornography. It's crazy nowadays!

It really is. I never took any pic of my son like that for that reason. There was a lady I heard about in the news who had her children taken away for taking bath tub photos. It was a big ordeal and they were in foster care for like 6mo or something if I remember correctly. It happened right around the time I had jeremiah and it really freaked me out. My mom was sitting him one day and she was going to take some pics and was calling me to tell me about how funny he was being in the tub with bubbles ( he was was prob 1 by this time) I started freaking out on here like OMG do not take any pictures of that you will go to jail LOL
