I'm actually based in Belfast in N.Ireland but looking for advice from anyone on this matter. I'm currently 12-weeks pregnant, and so far, regarding my pregnancy have seen my GP once to confirm the pregnancy, and I had a scan at 8-weeks (but that was only because I was having pains, otherwise I'd never have been offered that scan) I'm due my first antenatal appointment next week when I'm 13-weeks along. How often do you actually get seen throughout your pregnancy? I've researched and found the following:
'How often?
Not counting appointments for scans or other hospital-based tests, you can expect to have appointments every four weeks after week 12, every two weeks from week 32, and every week during the last three or four weeks. This varies, though, so ask your midwife for your likely schedule.'
However, I just get the feeling this won't be the case, and I'll only have a couple of more appointments throughout my pregnancy unless I ask to be seen. Was was the case for any others? ↓

| for me it was every 4 weeks until 28 or 30 weeks and then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks now it is every week until the baby comes. ↑ |

| My first appt. was around 7 or 8 weeks to establish the pregnancy. It's been every 4 weeks since then. At 32 weeks I'll start going every two weeks, and then from 36 weeks on I'll go weekly. ↑ |

| yep, same for me too...i found out i was pregnant with my son at 4 weeks...from then on i seen my dr every 4 weeks....until i got to 7 months, then that was every 2 weeks...8 months was the same, and 9 months every week. ↑ |

I was 7 weeks along when I had my first actual pre-natal and then I went every 4 weeks and then at 28 weeks to 35 I go every 2 weeks, and then 35 to birth every week...

| all of my appts. have been 4 weeks apart. i am now 23wks 24 on thursday and was told at my last dr. appt which was yesterday that i'll have one more 4 wk check up(march 27, i'll be 27wks) then was getting moved to every 2 wks. i guess all dr.s are different and it depends on if there are any problems ↑ |

| I was going to the doctor every 4 weeks until week 27 of my pregnancy at which time I went every 2 weeks. If it wasn't for preterm labor at 27 weeks I would not have started my 2 weeks until I was 29 weeks. The last three weeks of my pregnancy I saw my doctor every week. I didn't have an ultrasound until 22 weeks at which time I was also able to find out the gender of my baby. ↑ |

| i was going every 4 weeks unless something happened up to 28 weeks then got switched to 2 weeks, and im still on that routine, when i get to florida next week i wont be seen til march 26th and at that point i will be switched to one weeks until ive given birth. yeppers. ↑ |

I went at first at 11 weeks.
Had a scan at thirteen weeks, 15 and 17.
With frequent trips to the GP in between.
It's finally laying off now though.
Don't have to see the GP for three weeks and then have a scan four weeks after that! :) ↑ |

my first apt was when i was 5 weeks 3 days my seccond was at 8 weeks then 12 weeks then 16 weeks and then 20weeks 6 days, this is when we found out what we were having and the i had one at 24weeks and almost 28 weeks this one was last week and i jsut took my glucose test on tues day im due for my next on march 12th
so it went from every 3 weeks to every four weeks and now its back to every three, and then wheni get closer to my due date which is may 17th then they will be like every week ↑ |

| lol my first dr, i went to her only twice, but she gave me a ultrasound every time i went, she was jsut as excited as i was to see how much he was growing and my other dr, only gave me the one to find out the sex and the measurements :( i want more lol ↑ |

| For me it is monthly appointments till Im 28 weeks.. then every 2 weeks till Im 36 weeks.. Then weekly till the birth.. I think it's different in every country.. Im from Australia ↑ |

The reason I've been goin' so often is hypertension.
To make sure the kid is grand 'n all.
But here in Ireland my GP doesn't have an ultrasound machine.
I have to go the hospital to get one of those which takes about 3 hours waiting. Sucky! ↑ |

Naw it's free for me.
I didn't know anythin' about it until I get a letter from the local healthboard telling me that all services for a pregnant woman will be supplied free of charge. Lol
