hey everybody! i have finally had the chance to jump online and let you all know that i had my baby girl. she was born 9/13/07 at around noon and weighed 7 pounds even (and her docs said she was gonna be such a big baby-don't listen to that-every baby is different). i checked into the hospital on 9/12 at around 9pm and they gave the meds in my cervix, then awoke me at around 6am and put the IV in and the induction meds around 7am, then almost immediately i started having terrible contractions. good thing though, they said i could get my epidural anytime i wanted. so, i didn't hesitate, after about 2 hours, i got it and chloe was born in 5 hours (remember, it took christian 38 hours start to finish). i guess when you get induced, labor goes really fast. i dilated from 3 to 10cm in less than 30 minutes! i couldn't believe it. she said, ok, time to push. i was like "what"! i wasn't even mentally ready. i had to get myself together and push her out. it took 3 pushes about 15 min. long and she flew out! she didn't even have a cone head b/c she wasn't in the birth canal for long. i left the hospital on 9/15 and now i'm home. she is sooooo precious! i can't keep my hands off her. and hubby is so delighted to have a daughter (he has to get used to wiping front to back on a girl-lol). christian is very happy too, but is being "overly-helpful" and its driving me crazy! but someone said he will get bored with her and forget that she's there b/c she's too little for him to play with. it's only been 2 days since we've been home, so i guess everythings still new and fresh. she is now 5 days old. she had a doc appt. already b/c she is so pink and when you touch her with your finger, it turns yellow and then the blood rushed back to the surface of her skin. so, they pricked her little heel again and the level has risen from 9 to 13.6 since we left the hospital. so, she has to go again tomorrow (9/18) to get it rechecked. i will upload pics on myspace and my journal very soon (don't i always say that and never do it? lol).

just wanted to let everyone know.

vane, thanks for the post mamacita. :-)

oh, i meant to say that the reason for the heel pricking, is to check for jaundice-i'm sure most of you moms know that. lol.

yeah, thats what they said. so, i'm gonna take advantage of these last few weeks/days of nice weather before it gets cold. christian went through the same thing and it ended up going away on its own. hey randi, hows the pregnancy coming along? is it hard with the little one and being preggo at the same time? i always wondered how people like you and miss mara did it. lol.

It's going good Tasha. I don't even feel pregnant at all. I have no symptoms, which is nice. Are you getting much sleep with Chloe?

no, b/c i'm breastfeeding (mostly), hubby doesn't even need to get up. and then, after she feeds during the night, she wants to stay up and look around (i guess her way of playing) and then she ALWAYS poops afterwards. tonight is night #3 being home and i am so freaking exhausted. i have 8 weeks maternity leave to get it all on track, i guess. hubby only took 2 weeks and so far, hasn't been much help. lol. but, he has been helping me with our 4 yr. old. he's trying i guess. how many months are you now?

HEY THANKS EVERYBODY FOR ALL YOUR RESPONSES TO MY NEWEST ARRIVAL POST. CHLOE IS NOW 2 WEEKS AND 6 DAYS OLD. TIME IS ALREADY FLYING. SHE IS SO SWEET. IT IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT A GIRL. I LOVE HOLDING HER HEAD RIGHT UNDER MY NECK. ITS LIKE SHE JUST NUZZLES IN IT AND GOES TO SLEEP. MY PRINCESS. SHE HAD HER 2 WEEK CHECKUP YESTERDAY AND EVERYTHING IS GOOD. SHE HAD SOME JAUNDICE IN THE BEGINNING, BUT ITS ALL GOOD NOW. SHE IS NOW 8 LBS. 4 OZ. AND AHEAD OF HER GROWTH EXPECTANCY. JUST LIKE HER BROTHER. LOL. I AM STILL NURSING. I MADE MYSELF GET PAST THAT GOD-AWFUL POINT. YOU KNOW-THAT 1ST WEEK ONCE U COME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL. I CRIED EVERYTIME SHE LATCHED ON TO FEED. BUT WITH LOTS OF LANISOH AND LOTS OF PAIN AN PATIENCE, I DID IT!!! I'M SO PROUD. HOWEVER, SHE SOMETIMES ACTS LIKE SHES STILL HUNGRY AFTER A FEEDING SO I GIVE HER ABOUT 1 OR 2 OZ. OF INFAMIL LIPIL.

LOGAN, SORRY I HAVEN'T RESPONDED ON MYSPACE YET. YOUR SON IS ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!!!! I HAVE BEEN GUSHING OVER ALL HIS PICS. I EVEN SHOWED MY HUBBY. LOL. SO, HOW DID YOUR STRUGGLE WITH THE NURSING TURN OUT?

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR CONGRATS AND WELL-WISHES. THERE ARE A FEW PICS ON MY MYSPACE PAGE. I WILL UPLOAD THE REST WHEN I GET A BREAK.

Hi Tasha, well no luck he is not latching on at all!!!!
I have given up already he is now 4 weeks and I doubt he will latch after this long of trying, I do express it with my pump and then give it to him in a bottle, its a pain in the ass but I hate him not having any breast milk.

I struggled and struggled and all i was getting was severe pain and and even cried a few times, this is not for me, i just cannot suffer like that, it felt like he was bitting me instead of latching on.
