Well, i just left the hospital because i got tired of waiting. I've been getting cramps for the past few days and i was puking non stop all day and night yesterday, i couldnt even hold down water. I was puking air!!! But i wanted to have my baby checked out since i havent had an ultrasound yet.
The thing is i had gone to Mexico to get something for my throat and ever since i took the medicine i've felt sicker than before.
So to get to the point, is there anything over the counter that you can take for throat ache/cough?? I feel like i can't stand the pain but those pills the dr. gave me did more harm than good. Thanks Girlies!!!!

My home remedy is hot tea with LOTS of honey. It works really well on colds. Not sure if it would help much if it were something worse than that.

Don't take Chamomile Vane. It can cause miscarriage or early labour.

Oh, I didn't know that about chamomile. I usually put it in that, but I haven't been sick since I've been pregnant. I don't know what kind of tea is safe. Perhaps just dissolve it in warm water??

tyelnol helps with the pain. gargle salt water and you can use some numbing spray, but that is about it.

you could take some halls or something....also about the chammomile tea i found this:

I am 11 weeks pregnant and have received VERY conflicting info on chamomile tea. Is it safe to use for morning sickness?

I have done some research into your question and understand why you have gotten confused. There are conflicting messages, however, what seems to be a common strain in what I have read is that herbs used as medicinals -- in which case they are more concentrated and stronger -- should be avoided during pregnancy. This is because although some may be safe and others harmful, there is no way of being sure. In the U.S., herbal medicines are not regulated by the FDA and a product is allowed to be on the market unless the government proves it is harmful. This is in contrast to pharmaceutical companies who must first prove the safety and efficacy of a drug BEFORE they begin to sell it.

Herbal teas, on the other hand, contain small amounts of herbs blended for flavor only, not for medicinal effects. Chamomile is on the FDA list of GRAS (generally regarded as safe) ingredients, and is viewed as a very beneficial and benign herb. I have not read in any professional review of herbs that chamomile is dangerous to take when pregnant or nursing. It is simply placed in the all-encompassing group recommendation, to avoid herbal medicinals (but no mention of teas) while pregnant.

This leaves you with no black or white answer. My professional opinion, in light of the literature and evidence, is that chamomile tea in moderation is probably fine to enjoy while pregnant and nursing. I most definitely agree that herbal medicinals, however, should be avoided.

chamomile is really nice on the throat if you add a little honey to it. :-)

Also sre you sure it's not strep throat? I had that about a few months back and it was so painful that I couldn't even swallow my own spit. i had to get antibotics for it!

Thanks so much for that info bmes!! = )
The only tea i drank last time was not chamomille but cinnanom, and i forgot what it was for. I didnt know i was pregnant though, but i dont think it was bad, i just took a few sips.
ANd halls, duh!! how come i didnt think of that?? i think i'll feel better with a halls than a dose of tylenol. Thanks!!

I also used Chamomile to help with morning sickness in my first trimester as it helped soothe my stomach
