I found out about a week ago that I was pregnant. I was very excited to hear the news, as it is something I feared could be difficult for me, because I have PCOS. I took 3 home pregnancy tests and a blood pregnancy test, all coming back positive. According to the doctor, I am about 6 weeks along now, with a due date of July 22, 2009.

I keep having this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I am actually more like 12-16 weeks pregnant! I know it sounds crazy...but back in July, I was having some horrible nausea and not feeling right. I was having my period, but it was very different than normal - pretty much just light spotting. Then, about 1-2 months ago, I gained 10 pounds and keep gaining. I did take a few home pregnancy tests from July to October, and one blood pregnancy test, and they were all negative. With a pregnancy confirmed just 1 week ago, I am experiencing no symptoms at all that most experience when they first are pregnant.

My question is - could it be possible to have all those pregnancy tests come back negative, but really have been pregnant? Aren't blood tests usually 100% accurate? Can the doctor tell from a blood test how far along one is in their pregnancy?

I know I am depressed b/c of my weight gain - maybe I just want a reason to explain it!?!! But really, I have never heard of someone gaining that much weight in such a short amount of time...it's depressing, unless I am more pregnant than I thought! Let me know what you think....thanks!

the blood test measures hcg levels and is usually pretty accurate. If you think you are farther along than 6 weeks go to your doc and tell him that if he wont do an us then tell them your side hurts really bad and they'll do an us.lol
