Hi. I'm new to this. I'm 37 weeks and 2 days.. I know it's kind of late to be joining, but I just now found this place! My due date is March 20th. We're having a little boy, Killian Christopher. I found out at my appt. 2 days ago that I was one cm. dilated. I was just wondering how far along everybody else was when they started dilating. I'm hoping not go to my due date because I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Ever since last night I've been having sharp pains in the bottom of my stomach and in my pelvic area whenever I walk or stand up for more than a minute. I'm pretty sure it's just from the pressure of his head. I'm carrying a lot lower than some of my other pregnant friends. I get some uncomfortable I'm not sure if it's a contraction or what. I have to stop walking for a minute and let it pass. I'm pretty sure it's not a contraction because it only happens when I walk and it doesn't start at the top, it's only at the bottom. Anyways, Could you guys let me know how your pregnancy was the few days before you went into labor? And when you started dilating. ↓

| Have you nodiced any other weird sytoms only since you have been dialating? Just wondering because I am 38 weeks 2 days and I won't find out till tuesday if I am dialating at all ↑ |

| Welcome to Baby Crowd! With my first I started dilating at 36 weeks. I was 3 centimeters by 38 weeks and 75% effaced. I delivered 10 days before my due date. I had a lot of different aches and pains at the end, and I carried very low too. I also had very loose stools for about 2 weeks before I delivered. I lost my mucous plug in bits and pieces, and then my water broke at 38 weeks. Hopefully you don't go over the 40 weeks! ↑ |

I am now 38 weeks and I went to the doctor yesterday and I am finally seeing progress. My doctor says that I am around 1 cm dialated and my baby is in the prefect position for delivery.
I have been have mild contractions. My bowels have been off and on with thte loosness. They are either very very hard, or very very soft.
I know I passes my mucous plug slowly throughout the last week. I am also very uncomfrtable with the baby being so very low right now. It hurts but reminds me that the baby has to get even lower if i expect to push him out of me. That is just weird to imagine a baby passing through my body.
I have a final ultrasound scheduled to check and see how big the baby is, because my baby was measuring big in Janaury and my doctor doesn't want him to get too big for me to push out since I prefer not to have a c-section delivery ↑ |

| I think every women is diffrent things can happen gradually or overnight and it really doesn't mean you will deliver early or late. I am 40 weeks pregnant as of yesterday I effaced at 38 weeks to 20 percent and that hasn't changed at all , I am not dilated yet ethier have no braxon hicks contractions or anything else un usual , I think you all are lucky :) I do have a doctors apointment today though so we shall see. ↑ |

With my first at 35 1/2 weeks I woke up at 6am to my water breaking. Prior to that I had no progress. When I got to the hospital I was only 2 cm.
I am currently 35 weeks and no progress yet. My next dr. app. is next wednesday. Maybe progress or maybe a baby by then. It is simple, everyone is different and it is up to the baby, when to come. ↑ |

| well i have noticed my nesting instinct a lot more. usually i hate to clean, but now i wake up everymorning and clean the floors. also, my baby has been moving a lot more. i don't know if that's good or bad or what. Has anybody else had this weird thing where their baby does this weird kind of movement.. it's like a hiccup but it's only in one spot? I asked my doctor about it and she said it's probably just him tapping his foot and entertaining himself in there. but sometimes I get worried that he might have a nerve disorder or something because it's only in one spot (left lower stomach). But then again I don't think my baby has moved since I had my 20 week ultrasound ( like flipped around or anything i move). He was head down then and stll is. Plus I can tell by where he does the weird movement.. it used to be lower but it gradually got higher as he got bigger. It just worries me because he never does it with any other body part or anything. ↑ |

| ohyeah, and julie23... i really didn't know that i would be dilated. I did experience some pain down there though, almost like a tight pulling... and I'd read that it was my cervix ripening. ↑ |

| I get some tightening and pulling, sharp pains normally in my left side... The baby's head is way down in my pelvis, they told me at the doctors last monday..I'll find out tuesday anyway... On my first everything happened all of a sudden so it really wouldn't surprize me if that's the way it'll be again... he'll come when he's ready! ↑ |

| I bet you will be dilated at least some! They say that second labors are shorter than firsts (usually) but they also say that the baby's head drops closer to labor in second deliveries than in the first. ↑ |

| i was NOTHING, until the day i started getting contractions....lol.... then when I went to the hospital finally i was already 3 cm dialated. THEN when I was 6 cm dialated they broke my water and I went BACK to 4 cm!!!! ARG......then i had a c-section!! lol...yep my labor SUCKED A**!!! all 31 hours of it!!! LOL ↑ |

I went into labor early... but I felt like I started dilating (I had pinching pains in my cervix) at about 34 weeks, and then my water broke at 35 weeks. I got checked 4 hours after my water broke and I was 5 centimeters.
The few days before that I was nesting like crazy and having some wierd hormone surges... it wasn't that long ago so you could probably find the posts where I talked about it still. I had him 3 weeks ago today.
I know that doesn't help much, lol, but that's how it happened for me. ↑ |

I delievered at 36 weeks, the only thing that was happening to me was the baby heads was engaged and I was having tons of B/H for 2 days .
my water broke on a monday night and it took along time before I dilated

| i started dialating at about week 36....than every week after that i was about one more cm dialated.....what your having could be labor....i was induced but when my contractions started i didnt feel them from top to bottom like people always told me i just felt them at the bottom.....but if it was true labor it would happen whether you were walking or not..... ↑ |
