When a baby drools a lot is it always because they are teething? Or is that just something babies do?

Aliyah is 2 months old and she's been drooling a lot lately and making spit bubbles. Yesterday she was crying and fussy all day long. My mom said both my brother and I got our first teeth around 2-3 months. But I dont' see or feel any teeth and she hasn't had a fever.

So do babies just drool for no reason?

yes--Kaden started drooling heavily around 2 mo....I thought he might have been teething then, but he just now got his first teeth at 6mo........

Kaden is cutting both his eye teeth with no drooling OR fever. Just super grumpy.

Sometimes babies who have a sore throat will drool a lot because it is painful for them to swallow. My daughter had hand, foot, mouth disease (very common in infants - they get sores in the back of their throats) when she was 3 months old and she was drooling a lot. She didn't cut her first tooth until she was 8 months old.

kendra drooles all damn day. Between the drool and the reflux we go through many bibs and shirts each day :) I am pretty sure that she isn't teething either

She does Jill. She is just using the reflux as an excuse to spit on you. I told you she is a crafty little thing :)

How is she? Doing any better? Maybe she just wants a puppy.

haha no puppies. Actually she is doing better with the choaking thing. Out of no where it has jsut improved. I hope that means that her reflux is getting better. She still spits up all the damn time, but the choaking thing only happens a couple of times a day and once in a while it doesn't even happen. She hasn't done it at noght in a few weeks so I am thinking about moving her into her own room now. She is moving too much fo the pack in play. She turns her self upside down and sideways and then get pissed that she has ran out of room LOL Both of the boys sleep all over the damp place too so it guess it just runs in the family LOL
