I was in a car accident in January. My court is this coming Monday. I am trying to find information to support what happened. Keep in mind the road conditions were icy and it was sleeting at the time. I was trying to pass a tractor trailer on the interstate. The speed limit on the interstate was 65, I was traveling between 50 and 55 at the time I tried to pass. The draft of air that hit me from the back of the truck caused me to slide over the ice that had gathered in the middle of the highway. I ended up fishtailing, spinning around a couple times and hitting the guard rail on both sides of the highway. The police officer gave me a reckless driving ticket - failure to maintain control. I don't believe I deserve that ticket because I would not have wrecked had it not been for the air that hit my car from the back of that truck. I am looking for a website that I can print information from showing these airflows around a tractor trailer, but I just am not having any luck. If any of you can help me I would really appreciate it! Thanks So much

I know that a lot of mudflaps on the back of semi trucks have warnings about the air that shoots out. I don't know where you would find that information though. I am sorry about your accident and I'm glad you're ok.

I would contact a long distance shipping co for information on airflows.
As far as reckless driving- probably your best argument is that reckless driving means you are driving bad by choice, but what happened to you was not by choice.
If you have the time- you should go to the library at the court house and read the vehichle code for the exact charge you were given a ticket for (it's on the ticket). Then argue that what you did was not a violation of what the code says.
