A low platelet count during pregnancy? I got a call from the doctor's today to come back in and do another blood test cause I had a low platelet count.... and I'm not really sure what it is.. I've tried looking it up.. but it doesn't make any sense to me.. so if any of you know or have had it... please explain this to me!!!!! I guess they test for it at the glocose screening cause that and everything came back normal except for that. ↓

i have that too, and they put me on iron supplements, i believe its you iron......mine was really low, im 32 weeks pregnant......i had it with my daughter too.....have you been feeling really tired or out of breath?? those are usually the signs of anemia and let me tell you! being on extra iron has been making me feel ALOT better.......hope that helped! the doctors dont really make a big deal about it but they keep an eye on it.....cant have your platelet count too low when you give birth or you could end up needing them to give you blood...... ↑

oh, ps- they called me about it after my glucose screening too.....they do a platelet count along withy our sugar screening... ↑

Thanks for the info.. that makes sense.. I can definitely see how I would be low on iron..... and yes I'm always tired and run down. At the beginning of my pregnancy I was passing out at work.. which was not good.. so they checked for anemia then, but said I was fine.. so I guess I'll just go in for the other blood test and see what happens! ↑

yeah i was fine with my first test too in the beginning, my dr said alot of women become anemic as pregnancy progresses, thanks to all the extra blood we accumulate lol.....oh the fun of pregnancy!! haha....at least its only temporary! ↑

yup, i had that and my levels kept dropping (i think dropping is the bad), so i was induced 2 weeks early b/c of it. doc. said this really long weird name for it and she said its only pregnancy-related so it would go away once i gave birth-which it did. i didn't have it with my first baby though, which is weird. every month, i had to have my blood drawn to check the platelet level and they had to monitor the levels it dropped to. she told me all the reasons why she had to induce me early b/c of it and the weird thing is---------------i don't remember why!?!?!?!? lol. chloe is only 6 mo. old and i've already forgotten! geez! but, yeah, i had it. ↑

I am days from being 3 months late for my period. I took a pregnancy test at 5 weeks after my missed period and 2 since then...both neg. I have a dr appt on 4/1. Any of you have problems with hpts? Can you test too late? ↑
