I have heartburn so bad that it literally hurts. Any suggestion on what to do. I've been chewing on tums but the recommended dose is no more the 6, so I'be been breaking them in half so that they will last me longer. Today I had to use Pepto Bismo but this just takes the edge of for a little whiled. I watch to make sure that I don't eat certain food that I know will make it worse. I don't think it helps that I throw up all day because of morning sickness.

Well I have been having a lot of heartburn and i usually take 2 tums and it's gone. I know the feeling about it really hurting. They suggest that you eat 6 small meals, nothing fried or greasy or spicy, and also that you eat 2 hours before you are about to lay down etc. I have also noticed that i had to change my organge juice. I now drink low acid because the regular one was giving me heartburn. If you try those things then the heartburn might loosen up.

I also had really bad HB when I was pregnant and my doctor gave me a perscription for it. he gave me some pills called protonix. I am seriouse I had HB all day everyday. i would drink milk right out of the carton all day long with no mercery. And I took one of those pills and I didnt have HB for 3 days. You should really call your dr. office and ask them about it. They also gave me previcide. That one didnt work as well for me but great for my sister!

The reason I ask is because when I was pregnant with my son I had heartburn but it didn't hurt it was more annoying then anything, but the doctor wouldn give me anything. They kept telling me that I could use tums or this or that. Which I already tried with no luck. I have a different doctor this time because of my husband's insurance so maybe he'll do something for me. I'm really good about what's going into my mouth and small meal are my only option at this time because of my morning sickness. I'm passed my first trimester so hopefully they will be more willing to give me something because I don't know how much longer I can deal with this.
