Hiyall, Went in for my 37 week checkup...all looks good. Baby has dropped, losing plug, only gained 1/2 a pound wahoo!, BP back to my normal'ish low.

My csection date has now officially been booked for June 24th, and we were even able to come to a compromise. As I stated in an earlier post, I really would like to go VBAC if I can but I don't want to take any chances with my little ones life...well the doctor says, if the I start laboring earlier than the planned date and wish to labor until the OR crew is done for the day, I will be able to do this and then at that point, we can go ahead and get me into the OR suite if the baby hasn't shown up yet. I must say I am excited about the possibility of not having a csection and at having an OR crew onsite in case something goes wrong and I have to get in fast! But the doc did reiterate that I'm in the lower success rate category for VBACs based on my previous delivery but she is at least willing to let me try which is all I can ask for I guess.

Wish me luck ladies and I'll keep my fingies crossed that this baby shows up a little faster than my first labor :) Be well goyles.

Good luck! I am in the same situation that you are in. First baby was vaginal yet had a shoulder dystocia. Second baby emergency c-section due to a cord prolapse. And this time around I am scheduled for a c-section on the 9th of July cause doc. thinks I will have another shoulder dystocia. I am one of those that has been through just about everything. I think there are pros and cons against both but I want get into all of that. I personally just want a healthy baby out of it all and it depends on every ones individual situation. I went through a lot of pain with the first one. The doc. turned the epidural off in the middle of labor and I felt everything. She said I wasn't pushing effectively. I honestly said I would never put myself through that kind of pain again (I thought I was going into shock or something from the pain). I had a third degree laceration that had to heal and I actually woke up in the middle of the night with night terrors. It still took about 4 weeks before the stitches dissolved. The best thing was that I was up walking around within hours of the delivery and with our bedrooms being up stairs there is no way I could have walked up and down the stairs after a c-section. The C-section that I had was an emergency. I was very discouraged because everything I thought had been going fine and had dilated to 4 cm. The surgery was so easy and I didn't have to go through any pain during and I really didn't have any pain after, but I had horrible back pain after for some reason. I literally took pain meds. for 6 weeks straight. It was extremely hard bending down to pick up and take care of the baby and I couldn't hold my 2 yr. old. It was honestly worse afterwards because of all the other people I had to take care of and heal myself. I am going to try for a Vbac if all possible because now I have three kids and it would be so nice to walk out of the hospital instead of bent over. But if anything goes wrong then the c-section we go. Because no matter what, the baby has to come out one way or another. I can say that with the vaginal delivery though, I did have kind of a high that I could do this and it makes you have a lot of confidence. So good luck and I hope everything works out for the best and you have a healthy baby no matter what. Sorry so long.

Thanks Kimber, good luck with yours too.

Rosey, Izzy's bday is such a great day! My nephew was born on June 29th and he is one of the nicest kids I know...he's thoughtful, kind to his siblings and really smart. I'm sure Izzy is all things and more :)
