Just got Joey weighed. He's now 19lb 13oz, which is just over the 75th centile! The health visitor says he's thriving. So pleased! He's currently 6 and a half months, or 28 weeks.

When he was 20 weeks he weighed 19lb 3oz, so hes only gained 10oz in 10 weeks. The health visitor says that's normal at this age as he's more active etc.

Is that normal in your experiences?

Are you nursing him? I nursed my first son for 15 months. At 3 months old he was 16 lbs, around 1.5 yrs he weighed 30 lbs. He is now 21/2 and weighs 33 lbs. So yes this is normal especially if your pediatrician is ok w/it. My son was always in the 95th rcentile until he turned like 2. Now he is average.

I don't know about this percentile business, b/c I've never been told where Gabbie fits in, but if you are just concerned about his sudden slow down in weight gain, that's totally normal around that age. Gabbie gained so rapidly for the first 6 months then slowed down. I was concerned about her at her 1 year appointment b/c she hadn't gained any weight since her 9 month appt. The doctor said it was fine and it's just b/c she had become more active, started walking, etc. She also used to be a VERY pudgy baby and now is a fairly slim tall toddler.

No. I'm not nursing him anymore; I stopped breastfeeding when he was 3 months. But good to hear it's normal. I fret too much!
