I also posted this over in breastfeeding but know there are tons of moms on this board who might have some good tips. Any help would be appreciated....
I need advice. My eight week old son always has to nurse himself to sleep for at lesat a couple of his naps each day. It's usually just five minutes and then he's snoozing. Which is great for now but he'll start daycare in five weeks and nursing for his two daytime naps won't be an option. Any thoughts? The only other hting that works real well is if he's in a baby bjorn but that's not an option at daycare either. It's just the nursing to suck/settle that I need help with. The pacifier doesn't work :) Is he just too young to try to help him settle himself? ↓

MARTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry i have no advice, perhaps have them give him a bottle with just a little bit of breast milk like an ounce or two, before those certain naptimes. when i switched braden to formula he also liked to be nursed to sleep so i just held him close with the bottle and that still does it til this day or my shoulder lol ↑ |
YAY COARTNEY!!! That's a good idea. My husband gives him a bottle of breast milk at night so I can get a nap in and he gets PISSED sometimes and wants the boobie. I feel awful and worry he'll do that at daycare but I guess that's why they will get paid the big bucks. Bastards. Ha ha. Sorry. I am dreading my return to work. Anyhow!!! How is Braden by the way? How are you????? ↑ |
yeh i went back to work 3 weeks ago .. wooies.. braden is good, getting big!! 11.7lbs and 24.5 inches!! :) im doing good, stressed out about alot of things right now and depressed bc i miss scott. other than that just working and watching bray bray grow. and no sleeping haha ↑ |
What about wrapping your son in a blanket (swaddling) have you tried that? makes them feel really secure. I used to work in childcare and we used to wrap out really little ones for nap time. Alot of them feel asleep in the swings as well. ↑ |
i refuse to let anyone but my mother watch bray, w all the crap going on w care givers screw that ↑ |
he only takes two naps a day? he is young to be sleepind so little. the good thing is day care will have to deal with this not you :) he will figure it out soon enough. Either he will gall to sleep after his feedings or he will learn to go to sleep with a passy. Kendra is 3mo old and she doesn't self sooth. It she is tired most times she wants to be rocked for a few min to go to sleep and she will have a few min of being fussy. Even if I don't rock her I can't jsut put her in her bed or she will cry because she doesn't keep the passy in very long. The only place that she falls to sleep by her self in is the car seat and the swing. ↑ |
same here coart. I think day care is great, but only after kids are old enough to talk and tell you anything bad that has happened. Jeremiah talked very young and when he was about 16ish months he told me his day care lady grabbed his arm tight and threw a crayon at his friends face. My roomate and best friend worked in the same room and she never saw it! show how sneeky people can be. Wsaw her out after she was fired and she got a bit of pay back, but most of the kids in that room would never have never been able to tell their moms clearly or wouldn't have remembered. ↑ |
i would have shot her or hit her w ur caddy haha ↑ |
haha I hade a grand am back then LOL Plus she wouldn't ahve been worth scratching the car LOL..........how do you know what kind of car I have LOL ↑ |
besides he fact that i stalk your ass, you told us the other day, or me on myspace lol ↑ |
STALKER!!!! oh yeah on that quiz thing huh LOL.....I was jsut reading the COARTNEY post LOL ↑ |
lolyeh wanna read her life story we have that idiocy for sale also--go back to daneses post read what i said to you ↑ |
haha....man I guess that's whats happens when I give advise at 8 in the morning LOL ↑ |
p.s Jill. Ian is like Kendra. He falls asleep in the car seat and both of his swings pretty easily but I have to wait until he's at a certain point otherwise he'll cry in those too. The baby bjorn is the best for him. I put him in that and he's out in less than five minutes. I time my morning walk based on his morning nap since he fights sleep sometimes. Rough life this kid has. Sleep. Poop. Play. Eat. Sleep. Poop. Play. Eat. ↑ |
Well play as in interacts with me or watches me make his toys come to life :) ↑ |
Sorry it took so long (I was down the shore) but I answered you on the breastfeeding board. I hope it helps! ↑ |
