Oriental Trading Company Inc. Recalls Children's Necklaces Due to Lead
Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in
cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary
recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using
recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of product: Children's Religious Fish Necklaces
Units: About 132,000
Importer: Oriental Trading Company Inc., of Omaha, Neb.
Hazard: The recalled children's necklaces contain high levels of lead.
Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health
effects.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recalled necklaces have a silver fish pendant that
hangs from a black cord.
Sold Exclusively at: Oriental Trading Company Inc. Web site and catalog
from January 2005 through January 2007 for about 70 cents.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled necklaces away
from children and discard it and contact Oriental Trading Company Inc.
for information on how to receive a full refund or credit.
