Christian has a stuff nose and a cough. He doesn't have a fever so i'm letting things run its course. I made an appt for him fo Sat. So, if I don't see improvement by then he'll be going.

My question is...his boogers are sometimes green. Does that mean it more serious than a stuffy nose.

I was told that if the boogers were clear in color its not that bad, but since his are green (kinda a mixture of clear and green) its cause for concern. Maybe an infection??

Ever heard of the green vs clear booger thing?

I'm letting it run its course, but as a precaution if I don't see him getting better at least he has an appt lined up for this Sat.

HAHAHA, My clinic is the bomb thats why!

I called yesterday and said my son has a cough and a runny nose i'll like to make an appt. They put me for today actually! But I asked for Sat just to see how his nose and cough will turn out.

But yea...Christian's clinic is open on Sat.

Only thing they said he won't be seeing his regular doctor, because he doesn't work Saturdays.

Someone once told me that clear boogers we're allergies or minor irratations, while green meant a cold or virus. Basically what you guys already said

I think it sounds like a cold. I don't think it's a cause for concern. Kaden had a bad one about a month ago and his snot was yellow. I didn't take him to the doctor though, just let it run it's course since there is nothing they can do.
I let him sleep with me and gave him a bigger pillow to prop him up. Warm steamy baths help clear his nose (Johnsons Soothing Vapours was good too) and when he was really bad I put a little vicks on his feet and a tiny bit on his chest.
Make sure he is drinking lots of water and cuddle him.

yup, infection def.

all the daycares that my kids have been to have a strict policy that if the discharge from the nose is green and not clear, then they are NOT allowed to come.

Green, brown, yellowish, anything from the nose that is not clear could be a sign of infection. My son had green snot when he was around a year old and the doctor said it was just a cold but within 2 days he had this stringy goo type stuff in his eyes and it was from the infection spreading. It was the only time in his 4 years of life he has ever been on antibiotics.

Thank you ladies so much. Is pretty gross, and he doesn't act any differently.

But he'll be going to the docs for sure!

I tried to let Mia's cold run it's course by itself and she ended up in hospital. So I won't be doin' that again. If it lasts over a week I'd bring him to the doctor. You already have an appointment on Saturday. That's good. He'll know what's best :)

I heard the clear vs green thing too.

But I always start with clear and towards the end of a cold the last two days or so...I blow green! I always think it's just the final clearout
