I've just picked up a TENS machine, which the hospital I use is lending me for when I go into labour.

Has anyone here, whose had experience of using the TENS machine in labour found it helpful?

I've heard it's only good in the beginning when the contractions aren't so strong.

They're selling little TENS machines in pharmacies over here now to relieve aches and pains. Lol.

I remember before I got pregnant I used to watch all those birthin' shows and you'd see nearly all the women with TENS machines attached. Pity I never got the chance to go into labour, I coulda told ya if 'twas any good :)

Better than a section any day!

I was so jealous of all the natural mothers that were in the ward after I had Mia. I wanted so bad to get up and walk around easy and pick her up as soon as she cried...But oooh that dreaded burning ripping pain just doesn't leave ya alone.

And when it's 4 in the mornin' in a loud hospital with the baby roaring...trying to get out of bed and into a comfy position for feeding is a nightmare! Lol.

I only hope ta feck I get ta go natural next time :(

My c section was much easier than the 27 hours of induced labour I had to go through first. I had no pain by day 5 and never had any trouble. I was up walking around fine the night I had it done. The only time it hurt was getting up after I had been laying for too long.

i was in labor 12 hours before i had it, and yeah i had a catheter but i was so drugged up the first night it didnt matter. i didnt get out of bed till the next day, but it was no big deal. yeah the first shower blew, i cried. and one time when i was in the hospital i waited too long to take pain pills and i was bawling trying to get down on the toilet cause i had to pee, my mom had to pick me up off the toilet. so yeah there were so bad parts, but there are ba parts to everything

I had no pain after my first walk...And I didn't take any pain relief after the initial two shots of morphine.

Lol.

I remember just before bed the night I had my section the nurse came in with a shot of morphine and I told her I didn't want it. She kept sayin' oh that's ok but don't let the pain get too bad.

Come on...I was goin' to sleep fer feck sake!

Then I woke up in the middle of the night about 3am and she was standin' there with the morphine again...Lol. She said she was going to give it to me anyways!!

Lmao!

What are they like :P
