I used to think the same as you, until I read the book, and in reading it I realised how inaccurate BBT is in establishing ovulation. I thought all women established a coverline which would remain the same, all women would ovulate at around the same time every month. All complete nonsense. Some women, like you, do, making BBT very simple. But others, like me, don't. I have irregular cycles, sometimes I ovulate on Day 14, other times I ovulate on Day 28. I brought my charts to my midwife after discovering I was pregnant, and that conception took place 3 weeks earlier than my charts had told me, and she said because I'm irregular, as so many women are, then my coverline was so much lower on the month I got pregnant than I thought it was. In fact that month it was 36.1! Not every woman has perfect cycles like you Daisy. Please be aware of that before making decisions on another woman's cycle so readily.

At any rate Daisy, we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm basing my opinion on Toni Weschler's expert advice, so I know I'm right, and that's good enough for me. Take care.

Yeah based on what I see now you have not ovulated yet. I had the same problem as far as ovulation goes. Instead of ovulating on the 14th day of my cycle I would ovulate between the 19th and 21st day and between this day and the day I had my period was short.

I actually agree with you for the most part, especially that all women are different. I don't have a perfect cycle, I wish I did. I'm basing my information on her chart and what I've been told by my own doctor that I trust as I know you trust yours and from my own experience.

I know we won't agree on this subject because we have both experienced different things, but yours is not the most common. It brings a smile to my face to know that you are pregnant with irregular cycles. I got pregnant with Ethaneal with a very irregular cycle, lucky to get af 4 times a year. But after 9 months of nursing him, my cycle became a bit more regulated, not perfect because they are still long. I did fall pregnant on our first try back in june of last year only to lose the baby in August nearly 12 weeks along. Your story brings me more hope but I know my temps won't do that for me....throw me off that is.

That being said, no more debating. No good for you and no good to upset m2b.

I agree to disagree (and agree on some statements)

How far along are you?

Daisy, that was a lovely post. I'm glad we haven't fallen out over this.

First of all, I'm so sorry that you have experienced a miscarriage. I have never had that misfortune, but I can't imagine how painful it is.

I maybe had about 8-9 periods, ovulation took place at completely different times of the months that I did ovulate, and so my BBT made no sense. I asked my doctor if fertility treatment would help me, only to be told they wouldn't offer me fertility treatment without a complete investigation first, and they'd only do an investigation after 12 months of unsuccessful attempts of trying to conceive.

I lost my beloved dog to heart failure in Oct 06, and his passing put me off trying to conceive. I still temped, but we weren't trying. And yet I conceived in Dec 06! I still stratch my head so confused because what with me being so depressed over my dog's passing, I don't even remember my fiancé and I having sex in December!! I'm now 21-weeks with my first baby, a little boy, who seems to be doing well. He's a very active baby so far.

Are you trying to conceive at the moment? I know you recently relocated to the UK. I'm actually from Northern Ireland.

Thanks for the sweet words. We are currently ttc, not full throttle or anything. I only temp to make sure that I'm still o'g. I'm always worried that I won't.

Yeah, we just relocated here and I do love it, but it's so different to what I was used to. In the states we had a big house and nearly 3/4 of acre of land. Here, my baby's room is the size of what our closet was and our bedroom is smaller than his was over there. Plus we have a tiny backyard. Not really complaining about the yard because at least it is grass. We had lived on the coast and had a ton of sand, plus in the south, you get nasty red ants that bite!

I do find my fitness level has soared since being here. You can walk anywhere and we all got bikes as well. The history over here is amazing.

Have you found it hard finding the right nursery decor for your baby? or are you still looking? We sold off everything in Ethanael's nursery so have to start over. I just ordered catherine lansfield jungle friends, we used to have the Zanzibar line from kidsline with the giant leaf from ikea over his crib. Jungle Friends was the closest with differen colors. Cant' wait to get it now.

PS I was never upset with you

Hmmm not really. Check out the one we decided on. It's the 'Zeddy and Parsnip' range in Mamas and Papas. We know he's a boy, but we decided on this range long before we found out his gender, and have decided to stick with it.

I'm presuming you're living in England? Are you living a city or country life?

That pattern is so cute! Bumble and Moo was my 2nd favorite.

We live in a small town on the outskirts of Leicestershire, lots of kids in my kids age groups. Yet we're only a 15 min drive to the city. My brother in law and sister in law live across the street from us and they have a 3 year old and a new baby.

:) Sounds very blissful. I live in Belfast, am 80 miles from family, so would like to relocate to be closer to them. a 3 yr old and a baby. So sweet. What's their names?

Name: Daisy-UK | Date: Apr 27th, 2007 1:23 PM
Their names are Hannah Grace and Benjamin Thomas

My 2 are Ethanael Bernard (Bernard is his grandfather) pronounciation is similar to Nathanial, but we spelled it with ael because my hubby's name is Michael and I can't believe my baby will be 2 in July!

My older son is Alexander Jacob, I was single and wanted a strong name to grow with him, he's going to be a teenager in July! I just can't believe I have a teenage son! Where does time go?

Here's a link to the set I just bought for my little one

For
my older son, he's got a surf theme, looks good so far and is a work in progress.

Do you think you may move closer to family before the baby is born? We had bought a house just before Ethanael was born. We had a heck of a time with FHA and selling realtor promised repairs that were never done then they told us if we didn't close by the end of the next day, we would be charged by the day until we did close. So I had left work and here I am 8.5 months pregnant in the sweltering heat building and repairing deck railing. Then later that day, my hubby came and then our realtor and her hubby came by and finished the work, was able to get inspection done and then closed before the end of the day. The seller agent got an earful and some major complaints. Would never do that again. I don't know what the real estate is like there, but I don't know how we would ever afford a house here, crazy prices and so many taxes on everything.

Thanks.
