I don't care if you are brutal, I am looking for honest opinions from people. Here are the names we are considering naming our daughter who is due next month:
Emery Jane
Lexie Jane
Emme Jane

I guess I didn't realize until today that Emery is a boys name. So Emmerie is a girls name?? Help. If you saw either spelling of this name, would you A. Like it? and B. know it was a girls name? Second, is Lexie too "trendy" and will it grow with a baby and sound okay as an adult? Thanks to all who answer. Don't worry, I won't cry! :)

I personally don't like the name Lexie. I like Emery Jane though. Personally I think it is fairly femenine sounding, I wouldn't name a boy that, however I kind of like the Emmerie spelling you typed too. How do you say Emme? Is it just "m"? or like emma?

No offense but I'm not sure I like any of them......not sure if it's I really don't like the first name or because Jane is behind each which I def. don't like sry. But it's your child and your choice and I bet you will end up picking a great name no matter what we say!

Hi Guys, so far I am not crying lol, I really appreciate your comments. Just to explain, Jane is a family name, so that is why we are using it for her middle name. You pronounce Emme like the letters 'M' 'E". Does that make sense?

Like Emmy? hmmm... I just like Emery of the 3 then. Good Luck!

Emme Jane would prob. be the best one out of all of them.

If you go with Emery I like the spelling of Emmerie better, for Lexie you could always go with Alexa and Lexie for short so when she is older she can choose which to go by and Emme is good but pretty popular.

I have tried w/ no luck to get one of the women off this sight to name their baby's Paisley Raine .....I liked it and my husband hated it, so I'd love to see someone use that one!!!!!!! LOL

ha ha. You know I like Paisley, I think that wil be our name if it's a girl. I do liket the sound of Paisley Raine, I just don't like how it goes with our last name.

Your husband sounds like mine-all traditional. He even liked (gulp) the name Tiffany. No offense to anyone with that name, but really? Tiffany? So weird to me. I don't know if anyone knows this but I really do like Emme, but J-Lo just named her baby that- so I don't know if that will ruin the name in itself, likeI am picking off of celebrities names.

Hahaha when I had my third child and the nurse asked what i was naming her when i said Brittney she's like "oh like Brittney Spears"..............ugh!!!!! Hhaha I like the name tiffany......my husband wanted to name our last child Nacona Naidene...not traditional as he usually goes for but he loved it i liked it at first but then not so much, haha

As for the family names we do that as well, but heres what I did......I gave them the middle name I really liked and after that the girls all got my middle name and both boys got their dads middle name......so after last name to it's 4 names all together, lol my middle childs first middle name wasn't exactly my first choice but I choose to name her after my grandma so.....she has an old fashioned middle name plus mine

I really like Emme Jane, I think it sounds very feminine and pretty. We are naming our baby girl (due in July) Jazlyn Rayne. I have mixed reviews on that one, but I really like it.

So I am watching Scrubs and they have a male patient called Emery. Do you guys think I can get away with calling my daugther Emery and no one will sit around thinking I've gone mad using a male name??

Name: mother2five | Date: Apr 11th, 2008 12:53 PM
septbaby.........boys names are gaining very much popularity for girls these days, I have 3 kids in school and the names some of those kids have are very dif. these days. Here are some girls w/ boy names

cooper
rylin
charlie

chandler
tonee
dylin

ect
.
you get my point, like the name emery those names work both ways.......my oldest's name is Morgan and shes a girl of course but now that name seems to be gaining popularity for a boys name????? But it orig. was a boys name.......if you've ever heard of wyatt earp......his brother was morgan earp

Hmmm I like Lexie Jane, buy I don't like the other 2. x

Name: septbaby | Date: Apr 11th, 2008 6:59 PM
My husband said no to Nacona. He doesn't like the spelling of Emmerie either- but that spelling definately looks more feminine than Emery. Hmmm. It just doesn't get any easier. Mother of Five- good point about Morgan.

Our baby is due in three weeks. As of now, we are leaning towards Emery. Any last minute advice anyone wants to give me on names?

Name: KarenM | Date: May 5th, 2008 2:26 AM
I like Emery or Emme, not big on Lexie...spelling wise how bout Emmarie if your hubby doesn't like Emery...you could call her Emma or Emmie for short. Anyway, I really like both those. Good luck!
