#1 - I was reading MIZZBRANDISS' post on the hospital bag. When do you start getting those together anyway? I mean how close to your due date?

#2 - this question may be TMI so sorry if it is. Occasionally now for the past month or so I have noticed a discharge that was kind of jelly-like. Its kind of cloudy colored but almost clear. It's usually in big (sorry for the image) clumps. I've heard descriptions of mucus plugs and I am really hoping this doesnt turn out to be what i've got going on (since im under the influence thats not supposed to happen until you are about to deliver). Anyone else experiencing this? By the way I am 30 weeks. Thanks for the help
Elizabeth

I got my bag together with my first pregnancy at about 32 weeks, just in case. With my daughter I packed my bag the night before because I knew when she was coming.. hehe!

I had some jelly like dishcharge throughout the end of my pregnancy (I know eww right) but I never lost my plug or dilated or anything sooo it could be some normal discharge or could be part of your plug,,,, some women start losing peices or theirs early on.

i lost pieces of my plug around 38 weeks...but it was pieces i never lost the whole thing...some women keep losing pieces of their plugs towards the end of pregnancy but never actually go into labor from it....it sounds like your just losing pieces of yours. i put my hospital bag together when i was about 36 weeks just in case something was to happen.

Hi Elizabeth the discharge you are having is natural and very common its not your mucus plug that usually has a pink tint to it or might even have a little blood in it. What you most likely have is just normal discharge caused from your cervix starting to thin and possibly opening. I had the same thing when I was pregnant with my son,and like you I thought I was losing my plug. I informed my doctor and this is what he told me. I hope this helps
