I can't exercise to much cause it's winter here and freezing cold I live in Canada and I can't afford a gym membership any one have any advice? I have always been thin and in good shape

Maybe you could buy a pregnancy workout video..but check with the doc first to make sure its ok. Consider yourself lucky that you only weigh 135 right now.. I'm 16 weeks and I wont even say what I weigh.lol. All just say its alot more than 135.

Ya I think I might try a yoga video if i can find one for pregnant women so I know the positions are safe. I have been reading up on it and your only suppost to of gained one pound during the first trimester I don't know if that's true or not maybee everyone is just different and we will just have to work harder to loose it after.

Congratulations on quitting smoking, just concentrate on what a wonderful gift you have already given your baby, forget the extra couple pounds! Great JOB!

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I've also gained about 10 lbs already. I'm at 10 weeks. I've been trying walking a mile or so a couple of times a week, but just that wears me out now! Also I found this video that's called "the walk diet" I think. It's really low impact and easy to do. You're supposed to gain like 30-40 lbs for the whole pregnancy, right?

I did that with my first pregnancy and gained a total of 50 lbs. I started out at 5'5' 110lbs.not good got diabetes from it. if you are of normal weight you should gain 25-35 lbs. first trimester should be 0-3 lbs 2nd through 8th month 1 lb / week last month slow down. This is my second and i dont want to get
gesgational diabetes again so im watching it. im 11 weeks and gained 2 lbs so far. I think its okay as long as your eating healthy first preg i was eating so many sweets my dr said no more sugar but i couldnt stop this time its strict health food no sugay for me good luck when is everyone due?

I was in the same boat as you. I gained a lot of weight right away but now it has become hard for me to gain weight. I was 110 to begin with very fit, now in my fifth month and at 126. The only thing that has gained weight is my boobs and my belly.
I found prego yoga dvd's to be great. I live in Minnesota and it's cold here two! I like doing yoga at home because there are no gym memberships, and I don't have to heat up the car.

Thanks for the info I'm looking into yogo DVD's at least it will make me feel better that i'm exercising and trying to do something about it. I am still trying real hard to eat healthy and i went to the dr today for my 12 week check up and i have only gained 1 lb since my last check up a month ago so that is making me feel better.

I thought for a normal, single pregnancy it's between 15 and 25 lbs as 'typical' weight gain. It would be more if you were carrying twins or multiples though.

I didnt read the other responses, just wanted to give you my two cents. DONT WORRY! Youre making a life and once you have this baby, it will all be worth it. I gained 60 pounds my first pregnancy, had a c-section and got back down to normal in 3 months. I know its different for everyone, but if you've always been thin, you'll be thin again.. Good luck!
