Joseph - Hebrew, meaning 'God Shall Multiply'.

We chose the name Joseph for our son, as it is a family name. In Ireland, it's very common to choose traditional family names for our children.

It's my father's middle name, the name of my great grandfather, my aunt is called Josephine, and both my own and Mark's great uncles are called Joseph.

We then gave him 2 middle names after his grandfathers - Stewart and Martin.

Why did you choose your childrens' names?

In my family, we are very traditional as well. I wanted to name my child James (if it is a boy). My spouse's name is James (but goes by Jamie) and my father's and my grandfather's name is James. My father goes by Jim and my grandfather goes by his middle name, Will. So I wanted to name him James and call him James. But boy do I get flack for that! So for now James is going to be his middle name.

If I have a girl, I would like to name her Izabella Claire (my great-grandmother's name was Clara - but that reminds me too much of a cow name for some reason...lol)

My spouse's side of the family are all named after relatives too. Still very traditional, no Phinneaus or Apple in our families!

My family aren't really ones for naming their children after relatives. It's just not something we do. We're more apt to take on a family name for confirmation, but that's our choice not our parents. I think most of my family just tries to choose a name that's not already taken! I have a lot of family! My one aunt and uncle named all three of their kids names that start with the letter "J", and my aunt's name is Julie, but my Uncle's is Chris, so I think that's pretty dumb. I wouldn't do that.

Sofia was originally a Lily-may but due to what her last name would have been...we changed it as we feared bullies. Not really sure why we called her Sofia in the end....or her middle name either....She's Sofia Renae. We just liked those two names together. We call her Bean, fifi, Sof, Sofi lol....she suits her name though.

My twins are Poppy and Daisy. Growing up I always wanted one boy and one girl called Daisy and Dylan.....when I found out I had two girls I named one Daisy and the only other name I thought of that went well was Poppy....I like twins to have similar names.....

Their middle names are Honey and Krystal....Honey just went with Poppy nicely whereas Krystal is after my bestfriend who died shortly before I gaev birth.

Ethan - Hebrew meaning Strong, Firm

We named Ethan because I've always loved that name, I had a friend from school with that name. I think my fiance liked that name because of Ethan Hunt character from Mission Impossible.

Gabriel - we thought of this name after watching a documentry " Angels good or evil"

I picked the name Kadin for my sons first name because the first and only time I had heard it I fell in love with it, my now husband and I weren't married yet and I told him that name once I heard it and we both loved it because it wasn't common (at the time) so we knew when we had a boy that would be his name. We chose the middle name of Michael because it's my husbands middle name (he goes by Mike) and it's also my brothers first name. We are still trying to decide on a name for this baby boy, but we want his middle name to be after a family member, but we're not sure who.

I think I am going with Brooke-Lynn Marie...

Brooke-Lynn just because I think it is really pretty, I like hyphenated names, mine is Shanna-Marie...

And then Marie because it is in my name, my mom's name, my grandma's name and my great grandmothers name and I think Marie goes nicely with almost everything.

It's kind of funny though, Brooke-Lynn is never really a name that I have ever thought of using but I really like it!

We haven't decided on the name yet and with us we're going to go with a first name that has a really great meaning regardless of it's origin. We are leaning a little more towards a European first name because of my husband's background but it really doesn't matter to him so long as it sounds nice and is meaningful. I would like the middle name to reflect my Thai origin so my parents are helping with that. All in all we just want to stay away from names that may sound too odd.
