jaundice can look a little reddish, like pumpkin or very yellow

my two youngest daughters had jaundice..megan (my 2yr old) her jaundice was bad enough that we had to put her under special lights..sheridan (6 weeksold) they just told us to take her out in the sunlight or to sit her by a sunny window and her jaundice has cleared up...but if you are breastfeeding they have a higher chance of being jaundiced

my little guy was jaundice and it stayed in his eyes for a while-very normal for jaundice

breast feeding doesnt cause jaundice, jaundice starts before the baby starts breast feeding, sometimes breast feeding can extend the jaundice period while breast feeding( but very rare) I know because my guy was jaundice for a while so I talked to my doctor about it

If I remember correctly from your pictures, your baby has darker skin, so maybe that's why you're not seeing the yellow on her skin. But jaundice is the only thing I've heard of that makes their eyes yellow.

yeah everyone kept saying how pretty my daughters skin was..."she looks so tan" they would say..but considering the fact that both her father and i are extremely pale...well we knew something wasn't quite right..

i didn't mean to imply that breastfeeding caused it...you are right it doesn't...but my dr said that it will take longer to clear up if they are breastfed..

my little guy has tanned skin too, so my doctor actually looked at his eyes to judge the jaundice, but when I took pictures of him in the pictures I could really see the orange in his skin( it looked like a spray on tan, poor little guy) we had to do the lights as well.

yeah you can really tell it in pictures...and the lights are horrible you just feel so bad for them ..looking like they are in a baby tanning bed ...i would just sit there and cry

I know it was awful, I could only take him out to feed him, he had to stay in for 24 hours, I was so upset, he loved it, since it was so warm I took pictures of him with those little sunglasses. My guy was 4 weeks early so he had to stay in the hosptial for a week,

my little girl didn't like it ...she would just scream and cry ..but the dr said we had to leave her in there...it was so hard ...i would take her out to feed her then right back in she would go...she would get so mad..she just wanted to be held

baden had a tad of jaundice in his face, bilirubin levels were normal though, at about 3-5 days it will peak and then usually will start going down. and actually its the more you feed the quicker it will go away b.c urinating and pooping help pass it. jaundice is when the babies own blood is trying to get rid of the mommies blood. it will go away whittni. sunlight is awesome for jaundice, my brother had it really bad, like it wasnt just the peak thing, so she would sit him in the sun in the swing for like 2 hours a day.

jaundice is completely normal for babies. she was kind of on the smaller side so it may take longer for her to get rid of it.. braden was 8 lbs and 20.5 inches and they said his levels were normal for jaundice b.c it goes by their size and weight. we had to get the bilirubin blood drawn tuesday too, but even the pediatrician didnt think it was necessary b.c the only thing that had a slight yellow tint was his face, the rest of his body is normal colored.

jaundice wont harm her..you NEED to put your daughter in a sun lit room..this will help her..

See with me in hospital, i kept my boy all covered up curtains drawn etc..i thought the sun light would harm him / upset him...ohh was i wrong..i got such a verbal bashing from the nurses and explained to me he needs to be in a room with sunlight coming in ( of course not in direct sun )

He was quite yellow..and after a week following there instructions he was right as rain...dont fret..
