so we went to the doc today because she is 1 month old wahoo! she is 8 lbs 4 ozs 23rd precentile for weight, 19 3/4 inches 6th precentile for height, 14 inch head 10th precentile for the head. so she is tiny for her age lol. but the doc said it was ok and that she is growing good, she's just going to be small.
now to the bad news. i've been talking a lot about her cough and the rattling in her chest. well this doctor, her normal doc, is not an idiot and actually heard the rattling, plus brooke was wheezing and she coughed for her. so they did a chest x-ray (holding her down for it almost brought me to tears) and there is some fluid in her lungs. the doc doesnt think it is a lot and it could be from birth still but she went ahead and prescribed an antibiotic that she has to take 3 times a day for 10 days. she is going to send the x-ray off to the radiologist so they can rule out pneumonia. we also have to go back on monday to make sure it is cleared up, because if it isnt it could be something more serious. she also said we may put her on reflux meds later on if we are still having problems.
anyways there is a 1 month old day yeah! lol oh i took her in the pool yesterday and she didnt scream. she was asleep for fireworks and the loud booms didnt wake her up!

I don't think it ia too uncommon to have some left over fluid, but ti is good that they found it so that she doesn't end up with a major infection from it. I hate when dr's jsut don't listen. babies are like cars they never make the "broken" sunds when professionals are trying to hear them. Then they think your nuts or over reacting when you discribe it to them. I'm glad she did it at the office or they would have said yeah it normal.

i know, i hate the "your an idiot" look. i brought up that it might be the reflux, and i think because she isnt throwing up as much anymore the doc doesnt want to believe it is reflux.

she is definitely getting chunky! lol i learned the other day that they are suppose to gain an ounce a day, and brooke is definitely doing that!

yeah they pack it on fast LOL It seems like kendra was so tiny and then boom her ass was a chunk LOL She went from having loose skin and wrinkles because she didn't have fat to fill it out to having rolls LOL Honestly the fluid in her lungs could very well be from asperating due to reflux. Maybe it ws clear when you brought her home and then she got sick because some of the spit up went into her lungs instead of on her onsie ya know.

I am glad that they are figuring things out for her : )
I hope she is ok... did they have to strap her arms up by her head to do the x ray? The just roll the device over to get her side? That's what they did to Kaden when he was 3 weeks and I cried :(

my mom and i had to hold her down. i held her arms up by her head and my mom held her hips with the little lead thing over her. she screamed a little and then was chill. i got to see the x-rays they were soooo cool! except that her tummy is full of gas and you could see that too!

Yeah when we took kaden we had to strap him into this thing that held his arms up. As soon as they rolled it to get the side shot though, he fell asleep. We saw all the x rays as well (he had 5 done total, as well as 2 ultrasounds. It was neat to see the gas and infection pass through him. He also had a twist in his bowel that we watched straighten. I should have asked for copies to make a slideshow LOL
