Is it normal to have period of time where baby doesn't seem to move much?or could I just not be feeling it as much? Also was wondering if it is normal for baby to hang out on one side most of the time?

your only 18 weeks so you are not going to always feel the baby.....they dont have you start doing kick counts until you are 28 weeks so its more than likely you just dont feel the baby cause he/she is still so small

Yes it is normal
They general say that 10 movements in one day is a good amount. But remember baby sleeps alot too.
If you are worried though go and get checked out.
Try dirinking cold water and laying on your LEFT side. Just try and be conscious of any movements baby is making.
I hope all is well.

Not until 28 weeks Question.

Your baby is still really small and probably just facing a direction where you can't feel it as strongly.

question she may also be growing cause they move less when they are having a growth spurt

I know the baby is growing alot, because my doc was shocked at how much it grew in 2 weeks. It habgs out pretty much on my left side now.But up til last week could only feel it's head there, now can feel it's whole body, usually stays in pretty much that same position.is that normal?I can feel some movements but not as much as before so i know the baby is ok,just curious.Have a doc appt tomorrow,so wll have him check too.

Yes. It is. I was 20-weeks, and although I'd been feeling a lot of movement beforehand, suddenly I felt very little if anything at all. It went on for 4 days, until eventually I went for an emergency ultrasound. He was just fine! The midwife said my placenta could have been cushioning the movement. :) I'm sure your little guy or girl is fine. :)

18 weeks is still pretty early--I didn't even feel regular movements til 21 weeks so I wouldn't worry. And true about the placenta probably coushioning soft movements.

I'll be 18 wks tomorrow and I feel the baby from time to time, but not regular. 18 wks is pretty early. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thanks everyone. My baby has moved pretty much nonstop today.lol I love it.Before I got up this morning I put my hand on my belly and baby just kept kicking me.Sure made me smile.I felt much better then.I think it was facing in because I could feel it's back so I guess I just couldn't feel him/her.

Yes your baby will get a reg. sleeping routine and you will not feel it move while it's sleeping if your worries drink some juice or eat a candy bar and see if it moves or call your Dr. Also yes Emilee hung out on my right the whole bit of my pregnancy, so much so I never ever felt not one kick in my left rib from her.
